This 40-minute documentary explores the "Suffertime" recording session by Grand Ole Opry legend Jeannie Seely at historic RCA Studio B in Nashville. "Suffertime" was written by Dottie West and her husband Bill West, and Dottie recorded the song on February 8, 1966. Although it was never released as a single, it was the title track to "Suffer Time" which was Dottie's highest-charting solo release on Billboard's country album chart.
When Jeannie Seely was looking for a song to perform on the Grand Ole Opry, she first thought of one she'd written titled "Another Heart For You To Break" (which Dottie recorded for her "Suffer Time" album). Jeannie happened to see the song "Suffertime" on the album and since she'd always loved that song, she decided to start performing it instead of her own song. Her Opry performances of the song led to the idea of recording it at RCA Studio B where Jeannie's first Nashville recording session was held and where Dottie West also recorded during her contract with RCA.
With this recording, Jeannie established a new record for the artist with the longest span of time (59 years) between recording sessions held at RCA Studio B. Also, Charlie McCoy set a new record for the musician with the longest span of time (62 years) between recording sessions at RCA Studio B.
