Jeans Remade Upcycled into a Floppy Bucket Hat from Thrift Find Sewing Pattern

Take your old pair of jeans and upcycle them into a floppy bucket hat! I found a sewing pattern at my last thrift store haul for hats. I love thrift store finds! How to reuse your jeans is a good question. I upcycled my favorite jeans that no longer fit me into a remade jean hat. The inspiration for this project was a vintage jean hat my friend Alison embroidered for me in the early nineties. You too can Artfully Sew!

Thanks Marilyn! As far as the headboard: my mom made the quilt top with extra pieces she had cut out but it was kinda small for an actual quilt. She asked if I wanted to use it for anything. Of course I had a plan! I cut foam core board to the size of the inner wood of the headboard, layered it with batting scraps and the quilt top and then pinned it to the foam core. I then attached it to the headboard with some thin nails, going through the seams so not to wreck the fabric. That way if I want to re-use it somewhere else it’s still in good condition. I am concerned about fading, but in my opinion it’s better to use our quilts and enjoy them instead of hiding them in the dark closet or drawer. Maybe I should make a video about that…🤔
