Your quilts are so Beautiful and the fabric ohhhh my love love love the colors. I just want to build up my fabric stack it is so much fun when you have more to choose from. Jean I could visit with you all day and every day . You are so much fun . I am almost 4 weeks into my back surgery recovery and doing ok . I just can’t wait to get started on setting up my craft room when I get the green light from my doctor that I can . I am moving my sewing room upstairs now that my son has moved into his new home. Was waiting for the room 😂. Your quilts and talents are amazing and love the chats . I am going to try the rounded edge on my next quilt I do love the look of that and connecting the binding on a diagonal . Very nice , thank you Amazing Job!

You make the binding look so easy. I have so many unfinished projects because I just cannot seem to get the binding right. I’ve been quilting for 14 years and still end up with lumpy binding on my quilts. Love this project it’s absolutely beautiful Jean!

OH! I do hope that my 'tutorial' shows how simple it can be. I think that some quilters make SUCH a big deal about 'binding' ` i.e., HATE HATE HATE it"....but I don't mind at all. What I DON'T like, is the mitered squared off corners. And so, I just smoothly go around my curves, bite by bite and take it lovely and slow. Hope this helps:)

Jean I so appreciate you talking about the height of your chair to put your arms at waist level. I am a retired Occupational Therapist and what you are teaching is Ergonomics. That is preventive and proper placement of the body to AVOID hurting the body, in this case your shoulders, arms, wrists, forearms and back. People get muscle strain when they are not properly positioned!

Yes, I have tons of scraps and batiks that I just randomly pulled. I didn't think about this going with that, or that clashing with this...just stuck them all together and got a RIOT of color! LOL! Jean the quilt is beautiful. I am working on setting up my singer professional sewing machine up with the acrylic table. I bought it 2012 and never used it. I have a singer computerized machine which can do embroidery and I thought the table went to it. I couldn't get it to fit. Its on the gray professional one. So I wanted to put the huge cutting mat I bought at martelli's half off, its too big for my kitchen table. Now I wonder if one of those large craft tables will work if they are big enough. I have a t all thing for the thread, but I don't have any idea how it works, it doesn't seem that the thread can be put on it. Is it to just have the thread to go through it. Confusing. I am getting ready to finish the table runner. We shall see, thanks to you and some others telling me to finish it. Thanks for the pep talk. LOL hugs for you. I have a really good pair of scissors and I can't find them, I bought the copper handle ones on Missouri Quilt Co. I have dritz rotary cutter and it closes on it own, I love that idea, why don't the other ones do that. Its hard for me because of my hands are numb and don't work well. I was so excited my table for the sewing machine has the holes in it for circles. Whoo Whoo My husband bought 2 square silicone pads for getting hot stuff out of the oven, I took them and put my iron on it. I would be worrying about sailing in storms and all, I would be a nervous wreck. Your a good mom. T hat has to be king sized.

Jean I'm having trouble with my quilt getting caught on the extension table when I'm quilting. I know it's normal to need to adjust a lot, but when I watch you quilt I don't see you struggling so much with it. Any tips to prevent the quilt catching on the edge of the Juki table?
@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory5 жыл бұрын
Nope....same thing happens to me. It just doesn't look it!!! LOL! I keep having to check if the little legs are in the proper position. I suppose that is the ONLY thing about my JUKI which could be a bit of a bummer...the table is just slightly flimsy and keeps shifting or lifting when I move a large quilt. I just have to be more careful, I suppose.

@@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory Well it is what it is : ) I have to thank you for the binding tip to close it off. I have been using a ruler called the Binding Tool and it's so confusing. When I saw that all I really needed to do was add the extra width for the binding strip it pretty much blew my mind. I finished a quilt called Wave Runner by Cozy Quilt Designs and used your method to close the binding: perfect the first time and utterly foolproof. Thank you so much

Even have a "special ruler" but your way seems to be much simpler.

Sitting here in Dublin at 2pm in the morning watching your video, Jean. I love this quilt, just beautiful both front and back. Thank you for sharing. I had to laugh when you talked about saying "We'll see" and Maxwell said that means "No" :-) My adult children told me that whenever I said "I'll see" they knew it would be a "no" but felt that I had listened and given the request consideration. Nice to hear that. One question, what batting do you use -100% cotton, 80/20 or wool? Again, lovely work...
@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory5 жыл бұрын
HaHa! Us and our 'we'll see'"s !! Gotta love the answer 'No'. LOL! I usually use Warm and Plush 100% cotton batting from The Warm Company, but have also used Walmart's 100% cotton batting. On occasion, I will use 80/20 and am liking that more and more however, as the poly in it helps to eliminate nasty creases.

When you do your binding, you dont use a walking foot and it comes out ok? If so, I'm going to stop using my walking foot.
@jeantruelovetruelovequiltsfory5 жыл бұрын
LOL!! I have NEVER used a walking foot....my bad....and I have made hundreds of quilts!! Everyone is like "USE YOUR WALKING FOOT", but I have not see the use of it. LOL! But PLEASE ~ USE YOUR WALKING FOOT! I don't want to be yelled at!! LOL! LOL!
