Booking first class on Thai Air is risky. The royal family has absolute priority, with no advance reservation required, even if they show up a few minutes before takeoff (it's a large group of hundreds of Thais, not just royalties). If there are no first class seats available, Thai Air kick out as many first class passengers as necessary to make room. It doesn't happen often, but it does happen. You're never sure your first class seat is guaranteed until after takeoff.
@TheFilipinoTraveler4 ай бұрын
I actually flew with a member of the Royal Family from Tokyo to Bangkok in THAI first class in 2018. I guess I got lucky as it was a small group and I believe those who booked in F class stayed in the first cabin. I was moved from my original seat 1A to 1K then to 3K. Two of the 9 seats in F class were not occupied. Felt lucky to have flown first class on that flight ;) Thanks for watching!

To me it looks like an ordinary long distance Business class seat and set up with a few extra's thrown in. I wouldn't pay the extra over business. Where there any extra's offered to get to Heathrow or away from BKK to your destination in Bangkok? There must be something better than business.

Hi. I actually redeemed my SAS miles for this first class flight. I thought it was very good value rather than flying in business class. It’s so typical of Asian carriers to run out of meal choices. As a first class pax this should not happen. Korean always ran out of things. That’s what you pay the money for….sadly Thai first class just doesn’t make it compared to other carriers like EK or QR!

I understand. I have only flown once with SQ suites and I loved it, SQ is on another level. My favorite though is still Emirates First class on the A380 where you get to shower in the sky ;)
@pacmanc8103 Жыл бұрын
@@TheFilipinoTravelerThe lavatory facilities on Emirates A380s is the best feature of Emirates First Class, to me. I find the cabin itself a bit full of suites - 14, I believe. The aisle seats (2k for me) feel a little confining because of the curvature of the fuselage, particularly with the doors closed. The Arabic mezze is always top notch and some of their main courses are very nice. This cabin doesn’t appear particularly dated, to me, but maybe a bit bland. At least it’s light and the seats look very comfortable. I like the fact that the seats are parallel, unlike the reverse herringbone that British Airways uses. The footwells aren’t narrow on BA, but these appear even wider. All in all, I like the lay out, but doors would be nice - like Saudia’s suites, which are very similar to this but with sliding doors. The food to me looked OK, but I’m not really a fan of caviar. The steak main course looked like there was something missing. From the menu description, I probably would have selected the chicken Kiev. The dessert and cheese looked pretty good - a sample of each would have been my choice.😉 Nice review - I flew Thai first class from NRT to Bangkok years ago when the seats were large recliners with footrests (on a 747, I think) and they didn’t have TVs. Today, it’s much nicer (although the catering is less extravagant).

Looks pretty bad. As many airlines quit “First Class” service, some like Thai keep it going but dumb it down so that it’s the same as or worse than some airlines’ business class (QR, EK, SQ, EY) - just unnecessarily large seat space and a higher fare cost than J-class. And service in rubber gloves? Has nobody told the crew that covid ended two years ago?
@TheFilipinoTraveler Жыл бұрын
Agree that QR´s Q suites is one of the best if not the best business class out there. For what I paid for in first class (I redeemed SAS miles plus about 200 USD, it was very much worth it :) Last week, we flew PAL from BKK-MNL and some of the crew were still using rubber gloves.
