Hi Paul 👋. Nice comprehensive and objective review, as usual! Your "buttermilk" experience brought back a funny memory to me. As a child, I saw an advertisement about a "new and delicious buttermilk" on TV. I was so entranced by how wonderful it looked that I begged my mother to buy some for me and my sister. She tried to tell us that we probably wouldn't like it as it would taste sour to us. Naturally, we still wanted this new beverage. Of course, as soon as we tasted it we had a reaction similar to yours. However, buttermilk is a great marinade for chicken and is delicious in making biscuits(sort of like but not scones for you Brits). I applaud you for your willingness to try new foods and beverages. It is one of the benefits of traveling to different countries and learning to appreciate something that you are not familiar with.

In regards to the first class seat, it is the true experience of India where everything is deplorable and in terrible condition, the people there, while very polite lack any kind of care in upkeeping anything, you were lucky there were not chickens flying around or goats in the hallways. Unfortunately this is what is to be expected of India. But its good to bring it to the attention of those who may not know, Good Job.

Hygiene standard in India have always been low or non existent, we say this because we have visited India starting in the 50 , 70 and in the 2000 NOTHING has changed, it’s been low and seems they do not prioritize hygiene, remember more than 50% of their citizens do NOT have a toilet were they live and eat. Yes service is great, lots of BS, but NO hygiene.😢😮

It worries me that a national carrier is buying old, retired aircraft. It says volumes about the airline and the country the allows its national flag carrier to show it to the World. The retention of the Delta seats and their condition and the general cabin's state of disrepair should not attract the price charged. At most, they should be inflicted on the Indian domestic market at less than budget airline prices.

Fair enough Paul. I just hope that the new cabins become the glimmer of hope that air India is here to stay. However, after watching their cabin unveil video, I honestly felt that their first class is bordering on being a business class suite, rather than a being a proper first class. But it will no doubt be way better than their existing product. Here's to wishing Air India clearer skies and a brighter future.
@Paul_Lucas Жыл бұрын
I think the new First Class looks alright - it's a surprise it's being kept when so many airlines are ditching their F cabins! But the real tell is how they manage cabin maintenance and soft service in all cabins, I think. They actually have great staff and a unique culture and I was a little disappointed in the rebrand, which makes the airline look so generic!

I do think that the Air India 777-300ER is a better aircraft than their 787-8/9 product but the crew on Air India seemed amazing and that’s always good! 😂😊 Hope it was still fun and I cannot wait to see that Singapore 🇸🇬 Airlines trip when it comes out soon! Hopefully 🤞 it is MUCH BETTER than AI which I fully expect as SQ is an INCREDIBLE AND MUCH BETTER overall airline than the current Air India 🇮🇳 and I hope the “NEW AIR INDIA” improves drastically especially after their Vistara merger soon! 😊 Cheers 🥂 mate great video! 😊
