Zero 10.12 I wouldn't have a huge problem with the roster if everything was recycled from three. I was excited for the game, but each time I look at Spiderman I get depressed. Same goes for cap, chris, Spencer,and gamora's shitty marvel now costume.

Yeah, I agree, plus the people they brought back for this game for 3 were rather weird choices. Like Spencer, really? And the sad part is that they will probably lock all the really cool fan favs behind the shitty DLC, like Sigma, ONE OF THE MAIN VILLAINS BEHIND THE STORY MODE AND HE'S FREAKING DLC, LIKE COME ON! Another grip I have is the generic realism they're going for, if they had stuck to 3's nice comicbook artstyle I bet the faces and some of the models wouldn't look so weird.. But at least Jedah looks awesome. Glad they decided to use a new Darkstalkers rep again.

The sad fact is due to Disney and all I'm not having high hopes for one of Jedah's old moves, the one where he grabs the other character and pumps them full of blood till they burst. Characters had unique animations for that the two funniest being Lord Raptor's butt growing till it exploded and Lilith's bust growing from tiny to super huge and then exploding. Personally I'd like to see Jon in one of these games..come on, nunchaku wielding martial arts master werewolf, that's freaking sweet.

The original vs series reused tons of characters from existing games. The roster usually consisted of mostly returning character plus a handful of new ones. Did fans really think Capcom was going to abandon existing models to create a bunch of new characters? People get hyped over some new characters, but they won't touch them if they're not brain dead top tier. Jwong loved Iron Fist and played with him a bit before giving up on him.

Joseph Lee fact is reusing charecter models cuts down the cost. There's only 4 brand new models. So people are angry because they didnt include all the charecters from the last game (at least on capcoms side AND they hardly have any new fighters.) Me I'll just wait for mods on PC

That's sort of my point. Reusing old sprites or models is cost effective. At the top of my head, the only noteworthy character missing from Capcom side is Vergil. No one really cared about Hsiek Ko, Jill and Tronne Bonne. Wesker was abandoned in UMvC3.

Right there with ya. I didn't think I was gonna be interested in the game, let alone actually get it but that's all changed, 180'd. I randomly said why not, and downloaded the free story demo which initially I just wasn't interested in it...but getting to mess with the new (old) 2v2 style and the revamped Gem system of Marvel Superheroes hooked me hard. The game felt tighter and mroe response and less of that floaty feeling MVC2 and MvC3/UMVC3 had, which made the lifespan of me playing the previous title, very short. Even though the roster has a LOT of disappointments (seriously....Spencer brought back?) and while I wish that like hundreds of my favorite Capcom and Marvel characters were part of the roster (hoping for future dlc additions to quench that thirst) I do like some returning and new characters. Darkstalkers is probably my top 3 and all-time favorite fighting game franchise, so getting Jedah and possibly giving support for that character and the franchise feels like a duty I am bound to ( seriously, Capcom...make a Darkstalkers game next!) I also love the return of Dormammu (a main and immense favorite of mine) as well as Thanos being brought back (though a different moveset). Love seeing Ultron, Dante and Nemesis . Gamora I will probably end up liking but not sure howmuch of her character I care about. But yes, this game has a lot wrong that I don't blame anyone for having animosity towards ( myself having some still) but there's a LOT that Capcom has done with the game that do deserve praise for .

I LOVE Jedah in this game. I think the purple blood is better suiting for him, but the red blood is close second. But when he does his Level 2 Super, the blood in the Underworld is like a darker tint of red. Can't wait to play this game. Also Jedah's laugh reminds me of Joker. So it seems to say Jedah is what would happen if Vega from Street Fighter had Vampiric powers and was a demon of the Underworld.

I'm guessing for story purposes Chris fits better than Leon cause Chris is a natural leader while Leon is known in the RE games for individual rescues, he doesn't lead teams like Chris. In RE Vendetta the most recent RE canon story, Chris leads a BSAA team and even recrute Leon to work with him. Maybe, Leon will be DLC.

I like how some of the gems interact with the new system mechanics. Soul Storm is basically an extension of the tag system, Mind Storm makes it so that you have enough meter to counter switch two or three times, and from what I heard, Space Storm makes it so the opponent can't tag out, so you can do a combo into a knockdown and activate Space Storm to lock them and fish for a killing combo.

My biggest problem with Jedah is not so much the color of his blood, but rather the fact that it looks like he's transforming his limbs to attack, as opposed to the original where he literally threw them at you and regenerated them instantly. In a lot of cases the blood effects were just a visual thing, but here they're the whole attack. It's still cool, but many characters use their blood to fight, while the original Jedah on the other hand was pretty unique. It's a shame that they changed him imo.

It's largely because the color in arcades is the red blood color, and that style is more iconic than the censored version. I'm curious on his other colors, I wonder if they will have boss Jedahs color. I recall in DS3 player Jedah is the one you see here but whenever you fought boss Jedah he would have black instead of the overall purple scheme. If not, well like Max said, there will be the mod community and I'm sure they will pull off some cool stuff, especially with the entire blood thing, really that's what I found awesome about him was the fact that he uses his own blood to rip you to shreds.

TBH I think the roster came to be via the structure of the story. The studio came up with a story and chose characters accordingly with influences from outside sources.(ie MCU, popular characters, etc...)
