I have a set of these Sass New Ruger Vaqueros that I purchased when they first came out. They are 4 3/4 " in 357. They really are great right out of the box. Never had them worked on and still shooting well. Enjoy!

The Rugers are good right out of the box, and all of my other revolvers have gone from the box to the range with no work done to ‘em. I feel like the action on these Rugers are just a little too tight/stiff for me to maintain my speed while shooting them stock. I liked the feel of the Rugers that Wrongo had, they were smooth and I felt like I could actual go a little faster with ‘em. ~Jed 🤠

I love my 1851 conversion. It's a little different, very elegant, and with the long barrel very accurate. It's also had reliability issues since day one. My Taylor Smoke Wagon and Ruger (Old Model) Vaquero on the other hand are amazing. And it's nice knowing with the right cartridge choice that Vaquero could be used for other things besides cowboy shooting. Really like the set you got; hard to go wrong with the Rugers, and looks like from the video you might even be a bit faster with those, especially once you've had time to get used to them. Oh, and if anyone wants to fire black powder out of my guns, no problem. But we're going to get to be good friends later while we clean guns together.

One of my Uberti 1875's was hanging up sometimes a few years back. One match I paid attention to which chamber was getting hang ups to see if it was the same one all the time. It happened twice, on different chambers. While cleaning brass, I noticed a drag mark on some of my brass, and the drag mark was curved and went across the primer pocket. I removed the cylinder and rubbed my finger across the firing pin hole. There were burrs around the hole. I dressed the hole using a circular needle file, problem went away. Seems the rims on some brands of brass were slightly thicker than others, and would drag on those burrs. The casings I noted the drag marks on were all the same brand. Don't remember what the brand was now.

He wants an arm and leg for them too. I thought he was out of his mind asking what he wants for them. Any help would be of great help. I just want to know if you weren't a competitor which would you spend your money on seriously. I don't like guessing where I'm going to hit. If you know what I mean. Oh, I know most of those folks from the Canby range! Fine folks indeed. As far as direction, keep watching episodes here to learn how things work and spend time with the folks at Canby. I’d attend a few of their monthly matches and get a feel for how things operate there. Help out with some of the posse chores if you’re comfortable with that. And, ask a lot of questions! I know those folks will have the answers.

Howdy Richard, and welcome! I typically shoot .38 in my revolvers. When I started the game I knew I wanted to shoot the ‘51 Navy, a .36 caliber Percussion Revolver. Those revolvers, when converted to cartridge, shoot .38. So, 44-40 in my Rifles, .38 in my revolvers. The SASS Model New Vaquero is only available in .357 or .45 (Colt). Vaqueros are available in 44-40 though. Hope that sorts things out for ya. ~Jed 🤠

Must be in a caliber commonly available in revolvers. Examples include, but are not limited to, .32-20, .32 Magnum, .357 Magnum, .38 Special, .44 Magnum, .44-40, and .45 Colt).” www.sassnet.com/Downloads/RO/SASSHandbook-16-2010.pdf ~Jed 🤠
