@@codeP08 It's a regular sweep pick but he holds the pick with his middle finger and uses his index and pinky fingers to extend the sweep up the e string. He also does a pinky hammer-on with his left hand before his right hand kicks in. The pinky strength of this guy is unrivaled.

4:12 he's one of those tappers who changes the pick from fingers in order to tap with the index and I think that's impressive that he sweep picked and tapped like that before going back to holding it normaly.

it is absolutely buckethead. He is playing with Giant Robot II, a band that buckethead DID tour with in the time period. Look at his picking hand, and tapping style - it's unmistakable.

If you're talking about the two-fingers-plus-thumb grip Buckethead is using when he plays fast, he's not the only one to use this grip. Paul Gilbert (who, incidentally, briefly taught Buckethead) used the same grip for 8 years before turning the pick around to the style he uses now. PG explains it in "Paul Gilbert - Discussing Pick Mechanics" which can be found on KZbin.

@tapPOOH thats exactly what i thought. it looks alot like the x2n but there wasnt any single coil version of it. I also dont know if it could be the Hot Lead Stack one because it doesnt look like there is any space for the "S" one the Pickup if you understand what i mean, but i have given these informations to some other people and we're now doing a more detailed research if you dont mind.

@TrevorWilsonHimself I honestly think that bucket might be using a form of sarod picking in this vid, it might just be inverted or something. I mean he is keeping a floating wrist, he is shaking his hand in a very sarod like way, and he certainly is zinging around the guitar with extreme momentum.. Another thing, pebber brown taught buckethead a huge variety of picking techniques, not just sarod, in fact I'm pretty sure that buckethead uses scalpul picking more.
