Jeep Add-A-Leaf Lift Install

In this video I will show you how to install an add-a-leaf on your existing leaf spring, on your Jeep. This process is similar on other Jeep models such as the CJ, Wrangler, and Comanche. But today I will show you how to do it on a 1984-2001 Jeep Cherokee XJ. Today I will show you how to do the whole job from start to finish. Normally you make good videos, but this time you was too quick. It could be nice to see the process to the end and also see the car after the install.

I agree but in this case we were in a time crunch for it not being my own Jeep. I mostly wanted to get the concept across of how the add a leaf went together when at that stage.

what add a leaf kits would be best for daily driving and minor trail offroading?

There is a few companies that have them and I don't have a lot of insight on which is better, but what really makes a difference is how well of condition the factory leafs are in before adding the new leaf. Old sagging leafs wont put out the same height with the added leaf as that company would advertise.

A buddy of mine has add a leaf 4” kit and wheels the crap out of it. Like trail 22 at Windrock and only has had the clips break once. We put them back on and it’s good as new. I prefer the complete leaf pack and run the skyjacker pack.

I actually used a Rough Country kit for this video but it is the same process for installation as the Rubicon Express.

Can I add a leaf if I have some old ones from the same model do I cut them shorter

I have doubled up for the second largest leaf in the pack with the factory leafs. I didn't cut them down and it provided about 1" lift over stock.

Wasted my time, people watch this to see how much lift you got out of the added Leaf but you never bothered to show the end result.

Adds about an inch, which is what they are rated for. I'm just here to show the install process. Knowing what the jeep looks like with the added lift is a simple google search away.
