heres a tip for those lifting their xj, once you lift that front end, you will need an adjustable track bar or will need to do some drilling as the lift will make the track bar force the front end to shift over towards the passenger side like 1.5 to 2 inches..

Hi Ronnie I have a 94 XJ with a Rubicon express 4.5" lift with the mono tube shocks and 6" shackles in the rear . 31" tire's snorkel K and N air filter and chipped it stage 2 . Also I put in a transmission cooler and four core radiator. Calling it The Swamp Toad since I found it on a farm here in Florida ... 😁🇺🇸 Merica 😀

Got front springs out out 97 v8 Grand Cherokee and they don't have they small curl at the top ordering Rubicon 4.5 springs right now. Also heavy metal 2" add a leaf I also have long shackle 2.5 so it should even out i believe. Also snagged front linkage doesn't work. Just my experience. Had v8 badge. Thank for the info on the 4"+ the forums are all over the place.

Great tips! The add-a-leaf on my MJ turned out pretty good, but the leaf springs on an MJ are a lot more arched than an XJ. That being said, I'll never do an add-a-leaf again. For the few bucks you save, it's so much hassle. Especially if you replace the bushings like I had to. For my XJ I'm planning to just get a 2.5" or 3" full leaf set.

+spacerag I know a lot of people complain about a add a leaf on a xj I put a rough country one on my buddy's 2 years ago and it's still setting up good my i don't like them myself I hate replacing bushing it's a pain lol

I have a 97 Grand Cherokee,Im on a tight budget.I Have coilsprings in the rear.Im thinking bout taking front coils move them to the rear,and puting v8 coils in the front,since i have a 4.0.Id like a 3 to 3.5 in lift so i can keep stock components and run for rubber 31s all around.What is your suggestions on this?
@cherokeeronnie7 жыл бұрын
+groovy outside yeah you can move the front coil to the rear for the v8 coils you might have to get a spacer to depends on how wore out the v8 could are as long as you stay around 3 inch you can run every else stock

I have a 98 XJ and the stock springs have a bit of sag to them. I'm looking for a cheap way to lift it just a couple of inches, mostly to restore the ride height plus an inch or so. But I don't want to destroy the ride in the process. A bit more load carrying capacity in the rear would be nice, but not a requirement. What would you suggest? Thinking the GC springs in front, but don't know what to do in the rear.
@cherokeeronnie7 жыл бұрын
John Acuff Sounds like somebody put a add a leaf in it It'll depend on how flat the springs are. I've done 2 xjs with S10 springs. One we used the main from the S10 added to the pack and got 3 inches and the second we used the main leaf from the S10 and got 2in cut the eyes off the s-10 mains and leave the xj main in the jeep, pull the rest of the xj leafs off stick the main s-10 springs under the xj main and bolt it back together with your xj pack with out your aal you will have to drill out the center holes in the xj mains to use the proper size center pin to fit the s-10 leafs. i think they're like 3/8. you will also have to grind down the foot on the center pins to fit into your axle perch. i've done a few of these bastard packs using both s-10 and dakota leafs. the s-10 seems to work better. Like I said it just depends on your leafs how wore they are and what s10 leafs you will have to use you might have to play with it to get your desired lift I always aim for 3.5 so my install ain't to bad if you haul with your jeep and you don't want to screw around with lifting it you can get coil over shocks which help out with hauling and sagging which I have I hauled 1,445 pounds of block yesterday hauled like a boss for the front I used GC springs with pucks
