Hey brother for the NOISE Try using dynamat or kilmat sound proofing also good for heat reduction!!! Good video I’ll buy one .

Some companies are rebranding the Maxi Trac for $200-$250.... Still a good deal! I got lucky with Napa a few months ago and with my code got me $94 otd 😎👍 MT has been working strong for me.

I saw in another video that the positive leads on their pump had wire strands pocking through the heat shrink ... I just picked up one of these and pulled the cover to find the very same. I would advise this to anyone before using to check these wire leads and re-wrap if necessary. NAPA needs to require the manufacturer to better their QC.

Mike, thanks for this notice. Much appreciated!!! For me, I completely encapsulated the ends by soldering them together. I then heat-shrinked it. The method worked great. I guess I forgot to add that portion into the video. But again, thank you for your contribution to this video.

I absolutely love mine, haven’t hard wired it in yet though and was also thinking of mounting in the trunk area of my 4runner. But you should look into adding the pressure switch mod. Relatively cheap and easy to do and will save the life of the compressor.

Thanks for the tip. I’ll look into it.

Like to see how to add the pressure switch.

@@alanphillips1344 there’s a few videos on KZbin of adding it to this same compressor, cost about $20 roughly

Thanks for the video. Very Informative

Nice work, you probably would've had room to keep it to one side and fit a small tank next to it and fit a pressure switch on the tank instead of fitting it to the compressor like others have done. Food for thought.

What's the 2 year update on this set up?

It would be nice if this thing could have at least like a 1 day warranty....at least!! haha....There are some good reviews of this but it would suck if you were really in need of it to air up a tire in the middle of nowhere and it stops working. I guess the ARB and any other compressor could do the same as well though.
@trailco38952 жыл бұрын
Well I don’t think having a warranty would help you if it stopped working while being in the middle of nowhere.

How did you ground the negative? What gauge wire did you rewire and run to the battery? Any problems since you’ve done this?
@trailco38952 жыл бұрын
I sanded a spot next to the compressor for the ground. I think I used 8 gauge wire, and it works amazing. From 15 psi to 35 psi in minute 25 seconds.

@@trailco3895 thanks for the response man. This is exactly what I want to do. I am going to give a run. Just bought the compressor yesterday. I’m going to order the wire and parts now.

Do you know how hot it gets in there after filling all four tires?
@trailco38952 жыл бұрын
Rick, I have Thor’s Lightning air system that airs up all 4 tires simultaneously in 3 minutes flat. The compressor is warm to the touch.

Not knocking the Maxtrac as I'm thinking about buying one and building a setup like my ABR Twin. But the lack of any warranty has me double thinking about it. But thanks for the video. Also you should have done this for safety. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aWWxh62OjJt_rq8

Del, thank you for this. Will look into possibly adding this to mine. The only issue I see with adding this, in my location, is the addition creates to much height to where I wouldn’t be able to close my rear floor cover. Thanks again for your input on the video.
