I was impressed by the Electric Jeep Avenger but the 1.2 petrol blew me away. Bought in Sun yellow with a big sunroof, it's a brilliant car for my family's needs. My other car is a 510hp 191mph Alfa Romeo, so performance is not the Jeep's purpose; practicality, comfort and ability around town is - and it is absolutely superb. 60mpg on a run too!! And I rarely find it 'slow'. The torque is the thing. 205NM is more than a typical 2-litre petrol of a few years ago , and the car is 400kg lighter than the EV version - that''s a HUGE amount!! I cannot recommend it highly enough. Ticks all the boxes.

Hi, I think I know where you and your wife are coming from if I were to downsize from my Jeep Compass 1.5 hybrid which is the S model so I have a few extra creature comforts like a full electric pan-roof, leather ventilated seats, great sound system etc. I guess it would have to be a higher spec version of the Avenger, that way I would more than likely appreciate it more although styling they have done a great job in making it stand out away from the usual segment cars. A fair and good review from yourself, you are quite right that Jeep are looking for new customers from large superminis etc wanting something different to the usual neighbours' cars etc., they have done a good job for the first attempt.

Yes, absolutely agree. It’s to bring people into Jeep and then hopefully keep them there. How do you enjoy your Compass? Is the hybrid good? Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. Your support is appreciated.

@@houseofcars1973 Hi, it's surprised me , It has been faultless and has lots of safety features, and more physical buttons than the Avenger, the infotainment is a good size, and the Alpine audio is pretty good, On a motorway run recently from where I live in Redcar to Cheshire returned 57.3 mpg set the cruise control and sit back and relax, its quite refined, only when you initially accelerate you can hear the engine my only gripe is the centre console is harder plastic my knee can rub against it on a long run but that could be how I sit , the boot is electric and adequate, yes overall so far after 6 months pleasantly surprised

You mentioned sand mode it also has mud and snow, which vary the traction control to provide grip on these surfaces. Does a surprisingly good job for 2WD. Also used in other Stellantis cars as grip control.

What about the problem with the timming belt in this specific model? The ild hybrid has a timming chain instead…

Haven’t heard about this? I shall need to investigate!

Totally agree. It's a wet belt pure tech and it's the same engine in my Peugeot 2008. You've got to be really on the ball with servicing. making sure they use the correct specification of oil to limit any future chaos from the belt breaking down and clogging the oil pick up 😅 ....great video by the way 💕👍

I'm just waiting on delivery of a Summit Hybrid to replace a Renault Captur - both pretty much the same size wise so no worries there. I like the Jeep cockpit & the way it drives (only tested an EV but I reckon the hybrid will be equally as good. The Jeep won against others mainly due to its looks - its just that bit different. My e-Hybrid is due in the next couple of weeks & unusually, its the first car in a good few years that i've actually been a wee bit excited about getting.

Why you all care about the back seats ?

Of course, because it adds to the usefulness of the car. Otherwise we’d all be driving MX-5’s……

@@houseofcars1973 What I mean, you should care about the back seat in a family sedan, and not in a Porsche.

The panel gaps on that thing are disgusting. Compare and contrast with any Honda or Kia for instance.
