Jeep Avenger is a front wheel drive, electric B-crossover made in Poland. It should not be confused with the Dodge Avenger, a sedan, which went out of production some 10 years ago. The Jeep Avenger is a sub compact crossover that shares components with the DS3 Crossback, Fiat 600e, Opel Mokka or Peugeot 2008. But it has nothing in common with the Jeep Renegade. Except the brandname of course.
The Avenger is the smallest of all the models I mentioned. It's closest to the Opel Mokka and Volkswagen T-Cross. The Avenger is about the size of the Renault Zoe. The Zoe being 3 cm... higher than the Avenger. But the Renault looks like a regular supermini, so it flies below the radar, while the Avenger has already won several awards, including the European Car of the Year 2023.

Marek my favourite reviewer, honest to the core. I’ve been waiting for this one especially because it’s from your home country but what I can gather the TCross may be a better buy. The 4 wheel drive version of the Avenger coming later may tip it over the edge and beat the T Cross.

I've seen those reports by Autoexpress, but I'm not sure they have the powertrain to apply here due to packaging. Whether BEV or PHEV the AWD would take up a lot of space.

Thanks for the review Marek. Nice to see new products coming out of that FIAT factory to keep the doors open. I feel that the Avenger could have been abysmal, but instead it's just a bit average. I think it'll find quite a few buyers that in reality need a small hatchback but want the adventurous off-road image. Smart re-use of some Stellantis parts as well.

When are we getting the new Dacia Duster model? Seems like it could really compete with the sub compact category especially in price.

This is the greatest example of globalisation. American brand, owned by a group based in the Netherlands, made in Poland, by Italian company, with batteries (probably) made in China. The only thing missing is a polar bear or a penguin 🤣

Love the look of the new Jeep Avenger...but i would prefer a more rugged looking 4x4 version petrol version with wider more knobbly off roading style tyres and rugged looking wheels , with some off roading style roof lamps and roof bars etc to complete the look ...something akin to a mini Land Rover Defender...do that and I'd definitely buy one ...as it stands at the moment it looks too tame for my liking ...it needs to be toughened up a bit . I reckon most Europeans would love a version like that .

I really hate it that so many of these driver 'assistance' features are default on at every start. It's predictably due to more legistlation from the EU.
@MarekDrivesENG

Yes. That is the case. But the goal is to have less people die in road accidents, and apparently these electronic nannies prove effective.

@@MarekDrivesENG My Jaguar XJ lane assist proved effective at trying to steer me into a lorry on a motorway at 70mph, so I turned it off after that. Other than that their system is not overly strict and fairly easy to live with - but I don't enjoy surprises like that. Recently though I had to rent a couple of cars and they had 'default on' systems (in fact the Kia kept switching it back on during use which I couldn't understand). I do mostly town miles and occasionally a long journey to a datacentre at work, on the same road that had confused my 2018 Jaguar, the Kia became borderline uncontrollable wanting to move into the other lane then correcting itself. I wouldn't mind if on starting you get a warning on the screen(s) saying driver assists are disabled, but having such invasive features continually reset themselves is unwelcome. I did some research via online car manuals and it turns out it is due to markets which adopted "General Safety Regulations 2 (GSR2)" standards. Test driving a 2024 Discovery Sport yesterday, when leaving everything turned on it was difficult to find times where it wasn't beeping about something or other. I'm looking to buy one at the moment and was going to treat myself to a new car (first time ever), but just getting one a single year older would avoid this annoyance.

I really like the exterior design. Very sharp and clean but given it's an American car, you just know they are going to slap a bunch of badges everywhere and try the bling things up. A shame. And why FWD? No AWD pocket rocket? That seems to be a missed opportunity. Volvo is offering that with the EX30. Always, a good review Marek. And I guessed your watch in the first 20secs. Beautiful.

This, with the exclusion of the branding is by no means an American car. It is fully Stellantis badged with all kind of parts from Fiat, Peugeot or Opel, fully engineered in Europe and not even sold in the US.

I didn't get the large vs small battery narrative. According to ABRP, Warsaw to Barcelona takes ~3h charging on Tesla Model S and ~9h on Jeep Avenger.
@MarekDrivesENG
@MarekDrivesENG 8 ай бұрын
This is a perfect case scenario, when the whether's right, and you're driving vmax 110 km/h, there's no headwind, etc. Now increase the speed to 130 (top legal speed on restricted sections of the German motorway, and let's assume we're not going to take advantage of the unrestricted sections), and 140 for all of Poland. Also let's take into account right no in central Germany is between 0 and -2 degrees Celsius, and in Poland it's about -5. All of a sudden your 3h stops extend to 5-6h for Tesla. My point is that driving long distance ICE beats any EV. BCN-WAW in an ICE is probably 30 minutes of petrol station stops. We're not accounting for sleeping, driver changes, etc. Just your regular petrol station refill and piss stops. And no reasonable amount of kWh is going to solve this today.
@natoftw
@natoftw 8 ай бұрын
@@MarekDrivesENG But why are we comparing ICE vs EV ? Shouldn't we compare small vs big battery ? I don't want to own two cars, and I want EV. There are clear advantages of owning an EV with bigger battery.
@MarekDrivesENG
@MarekDrivesENG 8 ай бұрын
Big battery is not ideal for the city, and still sucks long distance.
@natoftw
@natoftw 8 ай бұрын
@@MarekDrivesENG That's subjective. Plenty of people prefer frequent rest stops on long journeys. Me included. There is virtually no difference in my travel times with ice and ev. Also don't forget thats pretty much all EV drivers were ICE drivers before that, we can draw direct comparisons between living with both cars

Out of the cars The Jeep is the only vehicle that had had NO repairs since I bought new in 2019 - % yrs on and 45,000 km on the clock. And the most satisfying car out of the lot( I had in the past).
