Hearing the driver door close made me cringe as it reminded me I still need to install the 50mil Kilmat noise decoupler and 4mm Siless insulation in my front doors. I already did the roof, back quarters, rear doors, cargo area and under the rear seats. Under the rear seats is close to where the leaf springs and shocks are mounted. Wheel well area's are extremely solid, so I did not do those area's. Additional 5mm foam was installed on the trans/drive line tunnel as well. Floors and cargo area received 12mm foam matting topped off with floor liners and the carpeting and all that has been removed. From the rear cargo area to the lower firewall the floor was cleaned and had Herculiner bedliner as a base protection. As with most the backer board was removed and new headliner material was installed in my 4 liter powered '87 Pioneer.

I love having an XJ there’s a video for just about everything. My first (auto) love is my 99 Cutlass but the lack of support and easy parts availablity is leading me to consider not investing the effort and money for the engine it needs Edit: not related to the previous comment but bro 3-4 months of knowledge and actual hands-on XP later, I’m seeing watching this again that I could have gotten an amp that’s smaller than the one I got AND puts out more power?

I put hush matt in doors , 6.5" kappas and 100rms to each. Then I also put a ring of hush matt on the metal b4 I screwed down speaker. 6x9" kappas in boxes in rear. Later I'll upgrade amp to push more in 6x9s. But even now, I'm a rolling concert. Only 400rms in 12" sub. Until I get the dvc 4ohm so I can run at 2ohms mono, then I'll have 600rms. I'm done there. Edit: I forgot to mention this shit is slammin

Would I need to run the amplifier for the four kickers, or can I just install all of them and have better sound quality?

You could try, but the amp really helps with audio clarity over just the stock deck power.

nice setup but good lord every kicker item i have ever gotten was absolute garbage will be sticking Kenwood or alpine PS. kicker stuff sounded good just destroyed itself quickly
