Jay Bourbon Ruffstuff or Barnes 4WD sell DIY kits with that you need. Track bar mount frame and axle side, DOM tubing, 2 tube inserts, 2 heims with misalignment spacers and jam nuts. That’s pretty much it

How does it handle with the track bar being So much shorter than the drag link? I'm about to finish my kit tomorrow from a different company and was curious
@OutJeeping4 жыл бұрын
It's all about the geometry of having it parallel with the drag link. This helps to eliminate bumpsteer while driving down the road and with articulation angels.
@headlesnorseman7015 жыл бұрын
its a good idea to keep an IR thermometer in hand. i am not sure what kind of steel the axle tubes are or what kind of heat they can take. but i would you should be able to find online how fast they should heat/cool to maintain any heat related properties of the steel. and not cook the axle seals and bearings lol
@OutJeeping5 жыл бұрын
I agree, but I believe the axle tubes are just normal mild steel. If I was welding to the pumpkin which is cast Steel I would take more precautions and definitely watch out for melting axle seals in the pumpkin which they are located on this axle.
@headlesnorseman7015 жыл бұрын
OutJeeping ah yeah your right. The d30 end is just open. I’m probably Overthinking it, that’s the engineer in me, but all metals have heat related properties that you shouldn’t exceed. The factory robotic welders use heat sensors that keep the metal at a certain temperature m. It’s pretty cool stuff. It’s probably quite high for steel so what your doing is perfect

I was wondering about the mounting location, although I am only using the stock mounting bracket. You did make it look like it was suppose to go there, easy mistake from what I can tell. Still useful information. By the way, how do you like the Bilsten shocks? Any better than a lot of those out there? I know I need to change my soon...

What’s the difference on running the type of drag link that you are running compared to the ones with the ball joints on does it really make a difference does it ride better or less sloppy
@OutJeeping5 жыл бұрын
The heim joints that I have allow you to have more range of motion so it helps the jeep with better articulation compared to the normal tie rod end, but they need more maintenance of spraying some lube on them because they like to squeak.

Hey Austin, I just found and subscribed to your channel. I have a 97 GC that I'm working on. I'm a bit new to the upgrade game so I have to ask a question... Why couldn't you mount the tie rod above the knuckle for additional clearance?
@OutJeeping5 жыл бұрын
For this kit you cant really because the drag link and tie rod would both need to be mounted above and that puts alot of stress on that single bolt. But theres a WJ knuckle swap that has 2 attachment points for the drag and tie rod that people swap on to get better clearance. Or other companies have lots that mount above and the drag mounts under but has bends to go around the tie rod, like the Iron Rock Offroad over the knuckle steering kit.

@OutJeeping3 жыл бұрын
They will work with lowers and I forget if there is a clearance issue or not with the uppers. Unfortunately Trail Logic Industries website is currently down. You will need to have a lift though because the track bar will contact the top of the differential on a stock lift.
