Excellent. I had to replace my leaf springs as they were sprung from overloading it for many years. So, of course, I added a lift! Everything that breaks is an opportunity for an upgrade. Especially with a jeep of this era. So many options. I could definitely use a ratcheting breaker bar.

I love XJs. I owned 4 of them over the years and regret selling everyone one of them. They were easy enough to work on and parts were cheap. I remember my 1994 I replaced the front coil springs with V8 ZJ coil springs from like a 1998 that I pulled from a junk yard and they fit like a glove. It raised it a little bit and they were beefier. Then I put on heavy duty leaf springs and everything was leveled out. Like I said it was only maybe an 1" or 2" lift but it just looked so much better with the 30" tires. Damn it now I'm going to be looking at XJ videos all day. I look forward to more videos with this XJ.

11:15 Or, if your jeep has the prongs for those relays from the facory you already have most of the fog light system from the factory including nearly all the wires. Just add a switch, 2 relays and either a factory header panel "Headlight + foglight harnes" OR get a pinning and depinning kit and add two wires to the fatory headlight harness connector infront of the airbox. Not all XJs are plug and play when it comes to adding fog lights but my 00 Limited certainly was :P
@ProjectDanH3 ай бұрын
I've never found a plug and play fog light XJ . If you did you are extremely blessed
@1unkn0wn3 ай бұрын
@@ProjectDanH It does seam quite rare. Mine is a 00 limited 242 with power drivers only. No heated mirrors (added those) no power passenger and no heated seats. Perhaps as others chime in that have the plug and play we can figure out what combination might result in wires at the factory fog light relays but foglights not installed from the factory.

So during COVID my fabricator decided to leave New York and move to North Carolina. I had to take Beach jeep home before everything was complete. I still have a lot of welding to do but don't have a great place to keep it.. I don't want to get Rusty so it's been in the tent in my backyard. Been doing little stuff like the engine build. But I really need to make myself a weather tight place to finish the fabrication

Love the Series. I am about to buy one, My first car. Xj 96 2,5 engine manual. I Would love a video where you talk about going into a project from scratch. Where to buy parts which parts and How to apporach as a nok mechanic a total newbie. No experience to any car Work What so ever. The seller says that the engine won’t start, 462 km. Good condition. Ask Price is around 2200 dollars Is it possible to buy an automatic transmission engine and transform it to manual? Is it worth investing in a new engine or try to Rebuild the old one? Is it possible to put a 4.0 engine in it when it was born With 2.5?
@ProjectDanH3 ай бұрын
You can put a 4.0 in. Only buy it if it's not rotting. Also if it doesn't run make sure there is oil in it and make sure the crank turns. Don't buy it if it's seized

Was just working on the rear of my 2000 xj yesterday and attempted to remove the sway bar. The end links disintegrated and could not get the bolts out, and of the 4 bolts holding the bar brackets onto the frame rails I only got one out and the others just spun. Are there nuts inside the frame rails for those? Scratching my head...
@ProjectDanH2 ай бұрын
Yes there are nuts welded into the frame. You can chop em off. Enlarge the hole with a step up bit. And weld on some new nuts. Just make sure you drill a hole small enough to let the flange catch on the frame. If you go too big you'll need bigger bolts
