Very helpful to those of us who own XJs but are not professional mechanics. Well made video and you're a good narrator of the entire process. Thank you.

These videos are so flipping helpful! Seriously! For what it's worth, in my 93 4.0 Cherokee, I was able to drop the pan w/o even disconnecting the dipstick. I just kept twisting it some and then I dropped it towards the driver's side front wheel and it came out all together. And I don't even have it jacked up. Many thanks again!

Glad I could help, thanks for watching! How’d you drop the pan without disconnecting the dipstick? Did it come out with the entire dipstick assembly?

Great video, one tip is to clean and apply just the tiniest amount of anti seize to the dipstick coupler, that will help to get it off way easier in the future.

Pulling the top half of the dipstick where it bolts to the bell housing before dropping the trans pan make this much easier

After trying to wiggle tube loose and not having any luck, I went straight to this. Some say it makes it harder, but it will work easier than fighting with the tube.

Small thing but at 12:00 those bottles are actually designed to be poured in the other direction with the spout at the top so you dont get that "chugging" as it gasps for air.

I didn't see any mention of you re-connecting the dip-stick tube. As that was evidently one of the most difficult things to separate, how was it to put back on and surely it's fairly critical or you're not going to be able to check the fluid level and dirt is going to get in through the open pipe. - Not being off, just think it needs to be mentioned. Thanks for the video, all the same. It's a big help.

Fun fact when you can't get the dipstick tube off and you can't cut it the job is actually doable with the pan in the car you just have to unbolt the dipstick tube mount to let the pan drop another five inches or so

@KCars
@KCars 4 жыл бұрын
I did this just to flush out all the fluids right after I got it. And I’m not too sure on your issue, maybe your Jeep just has a loss of power so that’s why it needs to stay in 3rd gear for a longer time, could be a number of different things
