Great attempt and your rig is looking good! We wish we had lots of Commanders in our junk yards here in Australia :) as well as access to all the custom parts you get and mods you can do in US like the steel bumpers, bash plates, recovery points, etc.

I see you had 2 options, Do #3 or use a heat gun to reform the indentations to get that 1/2" to slide back. the bumper is just plastic so it can be reformed. I had a dent on my back bumper so I softened it and shaped it to almost the original shape and that was covered when I painted the bumper with Upol Raptor so only I know there was a dent there before.
@ExtremeDailyDrivers Жыл бұрын
That's a good idea and maybe I should have tried that before reinstalling. Or maybe I would have melted a hole into the bumper. Lol. Anyway, next week's video is going to be from the junkyard! See you there.

..."when you get here, it looks kinda stupid" I don't know why that made me laugh so damn hard! I gotta be honest and admit that I really liked this week's vid, it reminds me of the reality of doing a build. We've all had crap moments while attempting new stuff on our toys and all is not always good and perfect. I was reminded of frustrating moments you guys had with the Miata and that's part of the build and in part why we all feel good when we get stuff right on a project. This vid reminded me of when I was a kid and my old man, brother and myself would cut up RC cars and trucks just to try something new and it was cool. I'm thinking you're going for a hammerhead look on the CC and that's sick, it looks fine from four feet away so F it, specially if you're axing the whole front end soon anyway. Keep slicing and dicing and you'll get it down and what's with Kelly video bombing, I thought she was gonna start wrenching on the tank like she would on the Miata!
@ExtremeDailyDrivers Жыл бұрын
What's up, JC. I should have let Kelly take over. It probably would have turned out better! :) I loved RC cars too. Which one did you have? My first RC car was incredible. So complicated that at the time, I couldn't assemble it. It was called the Exceed. It was 4-wheel drive and had 4-wheel steering. I payed my brother to assemble it and I immediately crashed and broke it. My next car was an FX-10, one of the simplest cars ever, then a Black Foot, Lunch Box and finally a Super Hornet (I still have it). I loved RC cars. Who didn't? Anyway, next week's video will have us back at the junkyard!! See you there!

@@ExtremeDailyDrivers Junkyard score coming up. My wife's cousin scored coilovers for his Evo last week and at half price because it was holiday week, lucky fk. Yeah dude I still have a Blackfoot, a Stampede, some gas powered RC 10's and boxes of miscellaneous parts and bodies in storage. Looking forward to next week, cheers everyone!

Instead of the last mod you made to the bumper , i would have just used door seal ,you know the seal that os used to seal the doors so air and water doesnt get in,, i would have just pushed it on the bumper cover , it would have taken up the gap and looked factory and been done in 5 minutes.. i have seen that on a commander before and it looked factory 👍

That is a great idea. I wish I would have thought of it! It's too late now, but maybe someone else will try this and do a better job than I did. Thanks for watching.

I would eliminate that bumper and fab up a front winch bumper the size of the grill , that way it gives it a jeep wrangler look.

Way ahead of you, unfortunately I'm unable to do that, but I have an appointment with a fabricator in April and we are going to cook something cool up. Thanks for watching.

@@ExtremeDailyDrivers I'd be interested to see how the fab bumper turns out (and the price). I was disappointed I never had the chance to get a Jeep Steel bumper prior to them stopping production. Those were nice!
@ExtremeDailyDrivers Жыл бұрын
@@pconpcs I'm really excited about it. The fabricator is one of the most talented I've ever seen. The only problem is he specializes in Toyotas 😬. He has a 6 month waiting list. I'm on it for the beginning of April. He's going to do front and rear bumpers and hopefully a tire swing out. I think I'm going to give him the Jeep with no direction and no budget. " Just build something cool!" I've never been a fan of the Jeep Steel or Wam bumpers. Too big and too heavy.
