I think I will just keep purchasing 90's era vehicles. I have 3 of them and a 06 duramax. This just makes me continue not to trust any of the new garbage that is being built these days. Plus, all of my stuff has manual transmissions, which aren't available these days for the most part. Old vehicles for the win💪😊

Is the Compass really an Off Road vehicle? Have to ask when it disables itself when driven in Off Road situations. All the Compass and Patriots I've driven over the years since they were introduced were basically a Dodge Caliber with a Jeep Styled Body on them and more a foul weather road vehicle and not something for Trail Riding. Best!

My car detects if hands are on the steering wheel. It has lane correction and collision avoidance. If you take hands of the wheel it steers itself to stay between the lines. It bleeps and flashes "keep hands on steering wheel" on dash. I decided to see if it applied the brakes like it does for collision avoidance if I didn't grab the wheel. Bleeping got louder then self steering stopped and It headed towards a tree. Seems silly to switch the safety stuff off when you need it most.

I was looking for an intake gasket, no one had it nowhere, so I went to the oldest car shop in town. Old guy order it for me from manufacturer, he asked me If I wanted a generic or a fel-pro. I asked what was the difference, He said Price fel-pro is like 3 times the price a generic one. But old timers would never use anything other than fel-pro. You just proved why OEM specifications do matter.

Man, Hillbilly is the engine that keeps this whole operation afloat. He does everything. He stays late, comes early, does whatever it takes to get things done, and never complains. This water pump has been a nightmare that would aggravate any mechanic, but he never complained and never got aggravated and just kept doin it over and over until it’s fixed. He’s about the best employee you could ever hope for. His only downfall is he’s a Ford guy, but we all have our imperfections so I won’t hold that against him too much lol 😂

I think something more serious has happened to that Compass'es transmission since it keeps popping out of gears: the Compass like the Renegade have a more mechanical gear lever that makes possible to shift into gears. Maybe some links and blocks have break up, or were faulty from factory, and the ECU decided to go into protection mode to ensure less damage
