Not there anymore but I do feel they rate the trails harder that what they are. For example, a blue trail at Windrock would be considered a black trail at the Hatfield McCoy trails.

I've seen people hauled off in an ambulance more than once from heads hitting roll bars. Rollbars without helmits or at least proper restraints are more unsafe than without one. Head injuries are more common than people think

I get it if you’re doing the double blacks, rock bouncing, doing crazy stuff. But none of the trails I went on warranted having one on. I’m sure it’s a liability thing more than anything.

Like most places, they’re probably more likely to enforce the rule on high volume days (weekends and holidays). The rule actually requires a DOT certified helmet.
