Just an update on the availability of the water based metallics. They still have some in stock. I was able to order some last week. What's nice is that under "New Products" on their website they made them available in a set of 6, 4 ounce bottles that will give us a greater opportunity to try them out. I'm looking forward to trying these. I hope they still have some left when it's time for my next order. Maybe if enough of us start ordering some they will reconsider discontinuing the product line.

Very nice, so now we just need to find out where to get some of this! Update, I was able to still order some of the metallic waterbase products.

The product is from Classic Dye Products and is readily available. This is the company that produces the metallics.

Art love your videos. Would love to know what products you’re using? Especially for that repair on the grand Cherokee dashboard? I’ve been using viper, water-based products and have been very happy with them.

Water base dye takes to long to dry and they’ll freeze in the northeast. Also color matching is very difficult.
@mttmg Жыл бұрын
Not really, you can learn to mix them pretty quickly, and dry with a hair dryer or heat gun. Yes they can freeze, just store them in an insulated cooler. And WB dyes are SO much more durable, I can do things with WB that could never be done with solvent base finishes. If that's how you feel, it's your call, but you are missing out.

Thanks George. You make a valid point. It would be a good topic to address on the channel that I have overlooked. I think we could get some ideas from others in the field. Stay tuned and thanks.

Hi Rick, was that taupe a toner or dye?
@a.r.t.srealrepairsforrealc8247 Жыл бұрын
Taupe was from a discontinued line of metallic paints that wasn't formulated correctly. It's the only one left of the inventory I had but borrowing the red from it was helpful here. The new line doesn't have a good representative for reddish hue but I've got bronze coming by special order. I already have a job where the trim requires bronze.

@a.r.t.srealrepairsforrealc8247 Oh ok, that makes sense. So typically you would only mix with other metallic toners when painting metallic on plastic, correct? Also, did you order the special order bronze from the same supplier? If so, it's good to know they can do that.

@@mb4392 Yes, same supplier. Had to ask. I try to only intermix the metallic toners for trim. When I do carpets I can adjust with a bit of pigments when needed.

@a.r.t.srealrepairsforrealc8247 I haven't used mine yet, so that helps a lot. Thank you.
