Not everyone have to be a PRO ofroder to do that or to have fun off the road in his 4x4 or and to put film like this on yt, he just shows capabilities of the car, not his off-roading skills. And it does show that the car capabilities are pretty amazing, especially on stock tyres. At least this guy even took his Jeep OFF THE ROAD and trys to do something, unlike most 4x4's sitting on tarmack all the time. 5+

I love my Grand Cherokee, I take her up hills like that all time. Mines a WJ and its unstoppable unless mud is involved. Since mine is stock, those muddy spots get me every time.

Una Santa Fe te puede llevar a buenos lugares, una Foreste tambien, hasta una Q5 lo haria, la traccion Quattro es buena, pero como te dije, por mi trabajo de Ingeniero en Comunicaciones, necesitamos Frontier, Hilux (aunq no me gustan), Land Cruisers o Patrol para subir a Cerros o pasar por lugares muuyy dificiles...Yo se q una Xtrail no podria con eso LOL!,

Si, esa era 4x4 bueno....la Grand Vitara tambien es Ladder Chasis, pero tiene suspension independiente atras, se mueve bien off road. Hyundai tuvo su deal con Mitsubishi, especificamente la empresa Mobis q pertenece a Hyundai. Ellos crearon la Galloper basada en la Montero 92, despues la Terracan...Ojala sacaran otra asi, seria bueno....

Wow, gracias, eso es mas q obvio...por eso lo q importa son las prestaciones....Vuelvo y te repito, por algo la Forester tiene tantos premios como SUV en desempeño off road. Te recomiendo q veas los videos.... Y q la suspension sea independiente no tiene nada q ver si es capaz off road o no, porq el HUMMER TIENE SUSPENSION INDEPENDIENTE asi q todo es cuestion q si la plataforma se adapta bien al medio, la tranccion es efectiva en condiciones off road normales o regulares, nada de Rock Climbing.

Y disculpa si te insulte, la verdad no soporto la gente payasa o los smartass. Jamas he kerido decir q un Crossover reeplaza a un Body on Frame 4x4, jamas he dicho eso....pero la verdad aunq la Cherokee sea body on frame, se keda corta en off road. Hay q modificarla un poco pero aun asi, la transmision es de Crossover moderno q todo lo hace ella y uno no mete 4L y 4H y esas cosas... Aunq dejame decirte q hay monocascos SUV como la Montero q son muy buenas, y no son body on frame, hasta donde se.

@NullusxVotum grands are ment to look good not off road after 1999 but as far as the zjs go who can say anything bad about 4 wheel coil and a 5.2l

@NullusxVotum I still don't understand why jeep decided to put a huge ass bumper on the front of the newer ones. the older grand Cherokees do well off road, but it seems to me that if you tried to go offroading in the newer ones, you would have to buy a new bumper afterwards.

@andrademeza I would find a good mechanic and ask him. I have seen them lifted and all kinds of suspension work done to them. Me personally, I like a stock vehicle and the what it can do. Look into a budget lift kit that raises it only 2 inches without having to go into your suspension and all of that stuff.

Hmmm...there is no traction control on this one.....The 4wd system is not inteligent, it doesnt send the power to the wheels with more traction. Jeep have a lot to learn from Asian and Europeans about SUVs

No señor, esta muy ekivocado, de donde sacaste eso, Santa fe fue primero q el Azera, y la Veracruz vino del Santa Fe, y la Tucson es base Sonata. Tu kerida Cherokee solo tiene tranmision electronica, nada de reductoras como la Patrol o la Landcruiser...no se diferencia mucho de la Forester. Tu cherokee es un Crossover, como todos, con buen off road performance, pero un CROSSOVER, aunq no comparta plataforma con sedanes.

La verdad creo q tienes q actualizar tu informacion porq los mas recientes si la tienen. Si te refieres a el towin de un F-150 no, pero si tienen specificaciones para halar, y la Santa Fe tiene hasta un mecanismo atras para evitar agacharse atras con el peso del trailer. Se q es body on frame, Pero ya te digo, los SUV Crossover tienes q saber cual escoger, porq algunos como la Quashqai o la Rouge o Compass, SON BASURA FUERA DE CARRETERA. Pero una Santa Fe se para firme contra un Grand Vitara.

Bueno, no creci en ese sentido de q si es bonito y esa mierda.....MI PAPA ES MECANICO y creci sabiendo de carros, arreglando, y si leo sobre los body on frame, y las plataformas basadas en sedanes, aunq a veces es alrevez, hacen la plataforma para un SUV pequeño, q por lo general son Crossover, y despues se usa para un Sedan. Yo se q es una bestia para el Off Road en serio, pero aprecio un SUV crossover, basado en algun sedan o no, pero q haga buen trabajo off road regular.

Espero q sepas la diferencia, porq por mas q estudies ingenieria automotriz, parece q la diferencia entre un Crossover basado en plataformas de sedan, o un Crossover de chasis original diseñado para ese proposito, o la diferencia con un 4x4 real, no la tienes muy clara. La Cherokee JAMAS tendra las prestaciones de una Wrangler o una Patrol o una Landcruiser, porq es un SUV Crossover, aunq sus chasis no venga de un sedan como dices tu. Como dices tu: NO TIENE REDUCTORA NI NADA DE ESO!

Creeme q se diferenciar un Crossover de un 4x4, todos al final son SUVs....Asi q ningun compatriota mio me va a pegar ni nada...Y respecto a la cherokee, de la q eres tan creyente....Para q te informes, Crossover no significa q el carro es precisamente en base a un sedan, porq la Santa Fe y la Veracruz de Hyundai son Crossovers y su chasis no tiene nada q ver con ningun sedan de su linea...vamos a comenzar por ahi. Y segundo, la cherokee es un simple Crossover por su prestaciones.

But that Cherokee is nothing more than another CROSSOVER, based in you own words. So, I know there are many brutal 4x4 cars, like the wrangler or a Land Cruiser (not the luxury one) or the Patrol. Please dont tell me that Cherokee is a real 4x4. About the Snorkels, check more videos and you will the them, specially for the Cayenne. And if you make to decide between a Jeep or a Nissan or a Toyota, Patrol and Land Cruiser (with DIESEL ENGINE) are way better than a Jeep. A Defender is better, too.

Taking in consideration the poor performance in the video, it is not good enough. I mean, this model is not good, because I know the Wrangler is very good. About European or Japanese SUVs, it doesn matter if they are not as old as Jeep making SUVs, but the technology they have in their models, trust me, a Tiguan or a Cayenne or a Q5 or a Forester has way better off road performance than this heavy gas burner machine called Cherokee.

Are you nuts? The 4wd system in these Grand Cherokees with front and rear lockers, activated by gerotor pumps is far more effective than most 4x4 systems

You got the right idea on the third try; gotta keep the momentum going and not wait till the wheels spin to give it gas. A good spotter out front helps when the grade is this steep; I realize you weren't sure of what was ahead so were cautious w/ the gas at first. You probably don't have the Quadradrive, which is a big help is this situation, too.

Si hombre, bueno, no deep hasta el windshield pero si bastante deep para enterrarse si se hace mal, chekea los videos en youtube...Las cosas cambias, y todo depende de lo q la gente kiera.... Si alguna vez conociste la Terracan de Hyundai, esa si tiene hasta snorkel kit, y transmision con reductora. Lastima q no la hagan mas....

Hey, but have you seen that Cayenne on deep mud or sand?, it is nothing bad.... but many people wont do that with a 150k car. LOL!. I like the Pathfinder, but it is nothing confortable for adult passengers at the second seats row. I normally do minor or regular off road, going to a good beach or traveling at country side, for major off road, normally at my work, I use the company cars hehehhe!

I think you should check your sources, you have no Idea what is a Cayenne in action, or a Tiguan, check also the Forester, none of those cars has problems if 3 wheels have no traction, because one with traction is enough, Low Range or High Range is determined by a computer. Europeans wont fail in such basic thing. Cherokee is not a good off roaders, it can do it, but isnt reliable. My work depends on all terrain cars, and Cherokee is not something we trust on. A Grand Vitara is way better!.

@The415guy That's where you are very wrong. The FJ may have out performed the GC in some areas (most areas..) but it will never out perform a 2door wrangler off road.
