Jeep grand Cherokee vibration or clunk at take off

If you have a vibration in your Jeep Grand Cherokee or Jeep Comander ,Dodge Durango. this is more than likely the problem so In this video I’m removing the front differential out of a jeep grand Cherokee and going to change one of the bushing mounts that failed but this is going to be the same procedure for your Jeep Comander ,Dodge Durango.( yes Jeep fans your jeep is almost exactly the same underneath is a darn dodge Durango!!). It is a relatively simple job only a couple stubborn bolts.

I helped my brother back in 2015 change the whole suspension front and rear and front wheel bearings on his 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. It seems similar to the 2005-2010 except for the differential is different looking. It looks more like most older and some newer style 4x4 differentials.

Funny I search this and you’re in Grand Rapids where I live 😂. My front diff bushings are shot. Causing clunk and small vibration. Gonna put it on the hoist tomorrow and get these swapped

My 08 with a 5.7 clunks when you hit the gas at any speed & vibrates at 80+. Driveshaft has been replaced. Would these mounts cause that clunk and vibration?

Very informative video. I just bout a 2011 GC and it sometimes makes a pop noise on acceleration. I kinda figured it was the CV axle. Hopefully that's all it is.. Thank you..

Im getting the same issue sound when I start driving up to 18 mph. And I feel it mostly on my drivers side but the dealership told me different and they said it was going from the back but i clearly feel it in the front while im driving. Need help

Any chance you’ve got some tips or a video on replacing the motor mounts on on of those wk OM642 jeeps? I need to do mine asap and it looks like I’m going to have to pull the diff to get at them and make room to get the out. Is there a shortcut I’m missing? 2009 GC CRD

Hey Mike well the good thing about that particular engine it’s gonna be the same for just about every jeep you’re basically going to remove the hoop then you’re gonna jack the engine up remove the bolts and insert them out really not a lot technical about it sorry I don’t actually have a video on that though but I do work on OM 642s quite Often they’re not difficult to do the motor mount swap on

More than likely that’s because you have a broken motor mount I can see that being about 99% sure over a text message…. And if it’s a jeep grand Cherokee it could be this bracket that is doing it as well as a broken motor mount. Motor mount test put your foot on the break put the vehicle in gear have somebody watch as you give the engine gas but not moving the vehicle and see if the motor raises up on one side you also do the same procedure with it in reverse if you have a broken Motor mall the Engine will raise up about 6 inches and you will be able to determine which side is broken

Hi! I have a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo with about 90,000 miles and when I accelerate too quickly or especially if I accelerate too quickly while making a right turn, it makes this terrible clunk/thud sound from what seems like the center of my front floor boards. It sounds to me like the transmission is going to fall out of the bottom of my car. My husband says it's not, but that's how it sounds. Any idea what this is and is it something we should be able to fix ourselves? He feels like it's something with the four wheel drive.

Probably has a bad ball joint or a bad motor. Mount of some sort. Probably not a big deal. Just something needs to be looked at sorry I can’t give you much more definitive answers over a text but your husbands probably right it’s probably not a big deal just some normal maintenance that needs to be done.

I think I showed that But if I didn’t you put your foot on the break and then put it in forward holding the brake give it a little gas if you watch the differential move the bushings are bad you have to have two people to do it

I've replaced the front shaft, still there...I hav new diff mounting bushings from Creative Steel & JJ Off-road diff drop that I plan on doin n a few weeks... hopefully that's the issue (mounting bushings) hmu on messenger so we r able 2 stay linkd 4 the results!!
