Thank you, bro; it just happened to me exactly the same issue, that black wire was cut. I recommend keeping the black boot. A little difficult to pass the new cable through it but can be done. The orange cable eventually might be replaced too.

It's the wires in driver side door jam and sometimes passenger front door jam. I ran 10awg OFC wires from inside door through to under dash and used self soldering heat shrink butt connectors on the wires one by one matching them to the wires in door to under dash. But I cut out the electric plug connectors and removed them completely. Jeep(Chrysler) in 99-04 put in the cheapest wires they could in WJ models and had 5 different sizes of wires that where cheap cca wire with the bad kind of insulation that drys and cracks easily. If you replaced with the available online replacement door wiring harnesses with the pin connectors it will break in months to a year again and again from normal use of the doors. Same thing with doing a butt connection in door jam where it bends. That's why it's important to upgrade wires to OFC (oxygen free copper) stranded not solid copper wire 14-12 Gauge and use self solder butt connectors but have extra wires and ditch the connectors so you can stuff the wires inside the door and inside the inside of dash under steering wheel. This makes it so they don't break again. Just zip tie them inside and when door opens it is only moving a solid higher grade wire that has no connection points in door jam. The replacement ones from Mopar are damn near impossible to get and are incredibly expensive and still break. The cheaper brand available online with light green color wires is even worse wires than OEM. My method should last over a decade for any of you. You can buy rubber seal plugs for the doors electric connector holes and cut a slit in them with a hole in center for wires to go through, sealing the harness wire holes very cheap. You can also buy replacement door jam rubber boots that look accordian 🪗 because I've seen several WJ's from 02's to 04's that had their boots basically melted on the plastic and unable to be removed without cutting. They are in the vehicles in high heat over 20-25 years, imagine in Vegas, or Arizona heat putting vehicles around 120°F almost year round.

Why did you skip getting the harness thru the hole to the inside? Because if its connected to the black connector and the white clip it wont fit thru.

It’s been awhile since I did this video so I don’t remember fully what I did but all harnesses will fit through door jambs from factory some are just tight and have to be turned just right. All harnesses are made on bench then installed in car so it has to be able to pass through.

Ive has a lot of Mustangs, 80s T birds and Explorers have broken wires in the door jambs, a lot of times the windows would work with the doors open but not when closed lol. Seen toggle switches and wires ran inside from the battery where they would touch them to make the windows work

My issue is the driver side windows and windows behind the driver side work, but the front passenger side and rear passenger side back won't work, and just stopped working. And my key fob stopped locking and unlocking. What would be the culprit for the key fob, not locking and unlocking. What wires?

Yes ended up putting a new compressor on and works great. Also later had a bad BCM that caused windows and ac along with other stuff not to work intermittently. Replaced BCM and all issues fixed
