@28:00 Very well said, no pressure, makes the risks clear...you do not feel comfortable, do not do it. These are the kind of people you want to go into these situations with, no just off-roading, but anything in life that is risky. You do such a great job of helping other people on a hobby you are passionate about. Bravo. EDIT: @34:11 This is why Jeeps are the offroad kings, off-roading AND pulling another heavy vehicle up a trail, holy smokes that is impressive!

Glad to see you all had fun and your share of enough trouble to keep it very interesting! Here in Greece I got lost off-roading in NW.Greece, near the Albanian border! Matter of fact I found some woodcutters that advised me I had crossed the border (no markers) and had entered Albania territory! They urged me to turn around and haul ass lest I be captured by Albanian authorities and be in a heap of trouble with my American license plates on my Overland! Which I did! See you all in a couple of months for the Western Loop! Stay safe.

Just ran into you page! So cool! I have a 2015 Grande Cherokee and saw your video of Chief products and led me to this video. Love how you are so knowledgeable and guiding your team. This will help me for when I go off roading.

Yeah those trails are not easy, can definitely relate to those grand cherokee problems, got pretty hot a time or two and lost my exhaust hangers so I had my exhaust tied off by a rope. Cool video as always

Do you miss the air suspension?

Do you have any feedback on the air links to raise the air suspension? Do they work well? I know you have a trailhawk as well. What’s the biggest tire you feel comfortable with?
@ProdigalOverland
@ProdigalOverland 11 ай бұрын
When you get airlinks you trade ride height for articulation and ride comfort. I’m not really a fan of them. We have been running 265/65/18. I feel comfortable at that tire size.
@sgttomas

In my experience 265/65/18 is everything you’ll need for where this vehicle should go.

probably for you and *definitely too expensive for me* but it really depends on how much money the owner has/makes. some people have no problem buying these with cash or check

This is why I own jeeps, I own them to go 4 wheeling , I'm not a rich guy at all , I save for them and when paid off do not trade them in , but put money down and collection grows, current jeeps are 2021 GC trail Hawk, 2015 GC Laredo, 2016 Wrangler ,, 2017 patriot , I'm Jeep cult and only get Jeeps, it's been that way for 51 years, my parents are Jeep Cult it's what I've known my whole life ✌🦆

WK2s honestly aren't the easiest to drive on even moderately difficult trails (Trail 11 I think is a moderate 6/10 on onX). The whole using air bags to provide "lift" for offroad is not a great solution. It eats up your down travel and is really difficult to modify to make much better. These things use electronic traction aids which work decently well but are not a substitute for lockers. Not hating, I own a 2016 wk2 but if you are going to buy a modern SUV for offroading, get a wrangler or a 4Runner. If you are talking about the overheating issue, that's just bad luck. Mud sucks, stay out of it if you can. I wouldn't want to be behind a group of them but I respect people who are willing to take WK2s on these trails. Videos don't equal seat time either so I don't think I'd be looking to blame anyone here.

@@crawlculture I fully understand that, I have a summit myself. The articulation doesn’t compare to a wrangler. My point is the car didn’t just break down. His lines and excitement got the better of him. Was putting his foot down too much. As your name suggests; gotta crawl

I enjoyed this adventure. Thanks for recording and posting. I have a 2005 limited jgc with 5.7 hemi and quadradrive2. Throttle control is my Achilles. I tend to put too much throttle and there have been times I meant to mash the brake and ended up giving throttle. In the moment and excitement of the moment and some panic when I’m moving instead of stopping, there was one time where it could have been terrible. I need to learn to brake with left foot and learn how to give steady throttle and rely on the quadradrive2 to work instead of giving it more juice. Full transparency, I am not good, but I enjoy going off road at Bridgeport Texas ohv park. For a while I was going every weekend. My jgc is heavy and I have been surprised at how capable it is and how incapable I am at times to choose the correct line.

Unquestionably the TRX is a failure for the routes, my respects to Cherokee.

What would make someone think it’s a good idea to take a long ass truck through trails like that!? O wait cuz it’s a trx just cuz it got that hellcat engine don’t mean shit when you don’t get traction or have ground clearance and your wheel base is huge! These trails not made for trucks not even really the gladiators or the new Cherokee unless you got a wrangler or older Jeep Cherokee or grand Cherokee or something to that nature it ain’t work destroying a $100k truck
