I'm doing an almost complete suspension on my 94 ZJ too. 4 BJs, 4 front control arms with axle bushings, 4 sway bar links, 4 springs and 2" lift kit with shocks from Rough Country and front brake pads. The axle nuts are rusted on solid and nothing I had could budge them so I had to purchase the Bauer corded impact and that spun them off easily. Thanks for mentioning the extra information and the bolt fastner ratings, I didn't think of that. Good video thanks for posting.

I feel like everyone had gone through this with an axle nut and gone and bought the corded impact, that’s what I did !!

@kid pro quo Yeah I was originally going to do the ball joints and the upper control arm bushings too but I ran out of time. I've had the ball joints replaced by a shop since there was no point in getting an alignment done with wore-out ball joints. I didn't have death wobble but I'm sure with the condition everything was in I didn't have long before it set in.

Did you buy a kit with new bolts and hardware? Where did you source these? I'm in the same situation with rusty hardware and want to replace as the new suspension parts go in. Thanks

I bought the front and rear kits on ebay. I also got the sway bar and shock absorber bolts. It's more pricey but all the bolts and nuts are already sized correctly. If you have some patience you can find out what all the bolts are (I don't remember them, but the internet knows!) and go to a specialty bolt store and order them. Just be sure to use metric grade 10.9, or imperial grade 8 whichever one you choose. I do wish new control arms came with new hardware.

What? Why wouldn't you just compress the spring and pull it out

why use dangerous tools if their use can be avoided?

Do the billstein shocks feel softer or stiffer ride than stock?
@PatsCarGarage Жыл бұрын
I would stay stiffer, but certainly in a good way. Keep in mind my old shocks were completely gone so I can't tell you what OEM new shocks would feel like. I do like the ride though, less roll, less pitch, feels tight.
