This is why I like older vehicles. Less stuff to take apart to get to what needs fixed.

This is a great video, its nice that you mention the little clips and describe what you are looking at all the way through. Just some thoughts for someone needing to do this that has a JK: -Replace the oil filter housing with the newest mopar part, the seals have been redesigned. no more figure 8 seals under the cooler $177 -You can reuse the knock sensors and temp sensor, but spend the money on the new mopar oil pressure sensor. -If your anywhere close to 100k miles, change the spark plugs now -Replace all of the intake o ring seals, they are cheap.

Also, looks like oil pressure sensor part number changed for 2017/18 models.

@@jasonmiller4046 I'm driving 4.2 and 4.0 Jeeps (CJ,YJ,XJ and TJ) for over 36 years now and never had a water pump fail on me. Acceleration of the 4.2 and 4.0 is more than adequate. I can even use the 5th gear on the highway with a 3.07 gearing and 33' tires . . . as long as there's no incline. By the way, I would always pick the 3.8 over the 3.6 pentastar. The 2011 JK is the best choise (IMHO) we see the 3.6 back in the shop far more than the 3.8. Yes the 3.8 is a ;dog' for some. But it's a 4x4 not a race car.

Great Video and example of an outstanding mechanic. Jeep sure had head up their rear-end when they put that sensor in that deep. I have replaced mine twice now in 100k miles and may have to replace it again. Appreciate your video

Good Video,I’m doing this for the second time now on my 2015 Grand Cherokee , first time was 4 years ago for the filter housing leaking, now I got the oil pressure sensor code. Since I have to take the intake off again, I’m going to replace the spark Plugs and coils too now that I got 125,000 miles on it.

Are the knock sensors located below the entire oil cooler assembly? I have a check engine light come on for one of the knock sensors but if I have to remove that entire assembly to get to them I might just go ahead and replace the oil pressure sensor while I am at it

I had to replace the oil pressure sensor on my tj a few years ago and I made the mistake of buying aftermarket and after I installed it it didn't work right so I had to install the old one til I was able to get a new mopar unit and it's been working great since. So if you think buying an aftermarket one is cheaper nope it's not buy mopar ones instead.
