@@IronRockOffRoad why is it that no company makes a 97-01 replacement fuel tank? Seems like a good way for IRO to supply something that no other company does. I don’t want to spend $1400 on a fuel cell. Just want to replace my gas tank because someone drilled a hole in the plastic tank.

Why clamps & not jam nut?

Jam nuts are much more unreliable than clamps. Clamps stay tight until purposefully loosened. Jam nuts can come loose with incidental steering contact against obstacles, or if undertorqued (this is common, as it can be difficult to determine how tight is "tight enough").
