Thanks for posting the video - being able to watch someone else do it made the job much easier. Two tips: Unplugging the 4 electrical connections is a hassle - its hard to figure out how to disconnect most of them. It's also not necessary. I just tied that part of the console off out of the way with a bungee cord. Accessing the last 2 screws that are hidden underneath is really difficult, especially if you are trying to hold the console up with one hand while trying to work the screwdriver with the other. I ended up wedging a piece of 2x4 under the console on both sides. They are the perfect size - lifted the console almost 4" - and did a great job of opening up enough space to comfortably work under the console.

The biggest help in things like this are being able to see how they come apart without breaking something that is a pain to replace.

Great walkthrough and helped me with my install. The hardest part was the two last screws on the bottom were you have to lift the console and have to feel for them. 3:16 What helped me was having something to keep the console lifted (I used a long socket wrench) so one hand could find the screw while the other can loosen or tighten.

Nice! I’ve been thinking about adding this since the Gladiator came with it. Looks like a pretty easy install, although I’m surprised how many screws hold it in. And those little cubbies that came stock are completely useless, what’s the point!?!

Thank you for this video. I just had my 2021 Jeep Wrangler JL Rubicon built, leather seats, pretty much fully loaded and it doesn't have those cup holders. I've been watching 2021 Rubicon walk around videos and some have them factory installed and some don't. There isn't an option to add them when you build the Jeep. The only thing I can think of is, you get them factory installed if you order your build with the Mopar Weather mats (which I did not, but I ordered them from Mopar a few days later). I have a case number with FCA Jeep Chat and someone is supposed to get back with me because they could not explain why my Jeep does not have them.

Actually it’s because you got the leather seats. Those without don’t have the cup holders in the headrest of the center rear seat. So I essence you would have 4 cup holders in the rear with this.

@@ExfilOffRoad yes, but why do the JT Gladiators have them regardless if you get leather or cloth seats? Anyway, thank you for responding. It was just kind of irking me and being I paid 50k+ for my first Jeep, I just wanted to be sure nothing was missed :)

@@baylorpeak7135 nothing was missed. The gladiator does not have a head rest cup holder in any of their models at least up to 2021. The reason that the leather rubicon does not have the floor cup holders is due to the seat coming down and the forward edge of the head rest cup holder interfering with that area. Jeep made it an “upgrade” in the leather package, it’s nice in the head rest but they could have come up with a better idea than a useless lip on the floor.

What blows my mind is why Jeep keeps undoing things like this? Even the leaking issue up front, or where the hard top sit to the frame, why didn’t they think “hey it might leak, I think we need to design it better.”

I agree. I assume for this one though the design flaw was actually the leather middle seat head rest. They made it so it interferes with the cup holder. So instead of making the headrest less of an angle they remove the cup holder. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Even the 4xe Rubicon doesn't have it, and the seats flip forward fine with it. 2. WTF was someone thinking with those 2 bottom screws that you gotta basically blindly get at.
