Excellent video. Got my radiator out in record time. I do have to tell you that there's one more bolt!! My power steering cooler lines were bolted to the radiator! That was my only hang up. It's an 8mm bolt thru a rubber coated metal strap! Now of course the lower thermostat bolt snapped and I'm dealing with that headache 🤦🏼♂️ but thanks for the video it was very helpful!!

Thanks brother! Have an 02 GC LTD 4.7L and pretty much everything has gone out on her. I've used many KZbin vids to do repairs without problems. I WISH I watched your video 1st before doing this radiator job! I watched a couple other radiator removal videos first instead, which left A LOT of steps out, and ended up fighting with mine for THE most MISERABLE 6 hours ever AND STILL NOT DONE! I got so discouraged and contemplated giving in and having her towed to a shop. Your sequence and step by step is FANTASTIC! Gonna finish her up tomorrow. Thanks again man! 👍

I've done two of these now (and the job sucks)... both on different 2004 4.7l Grand Cherokees. In dealing with the hydraulic cooling fan 3 lines; I found it easier to loose the fitting on the 1) power-steering pump and for the other one on the power 2) steering box. That leaves only the spring clip hose on the 3) bottom of the hydraulic pump. I did blow off the seat point and shot a drip or two of PB on the threads several minutes before trying to break them loose. No issues getting them free and one of my WJ's is from N. Dakota and the other Wyoming, so not exactly grime free. As most of the videos say.... just be patient and don't get mad. All that will do is cost you money when you break something. Hope this strategy helps someone.

Glad to see that this process doesn't require disconnecting AC lines. I wanted to avoid that at all costs and I refused to believe it couldn't be avoided. I've been going over my WJ, getting heads rebuilt (new seats included), new water pump, oil pump, motor mounts and every gasket I encounter and I was hoping I would be able to relatively easily do the radiator at another time down the road if it wasn't too crazy, and I'll be going with those 2-row all aluminum rads when I do, in addition to an electric fan conversion and rid myself the misery of the hydraulic setup. Thanks for posting and I'm with you on your style; concise instructions and no extraneous BS, that is much appreciated brother.

Nice video. Just a couple of observations. If you buy a Denso radiator vs. a no-name, it will come with the M6 nut clips installed. Price is pretty close to the no-names and way cheaper than OEM. Surprising since Denso is an OEM provider. Instead of tape to mark hoses and tubes, use colored zip ties. They don't fall off when they get oily.

My only question is now that I have everything back together, What's the proper way of adding the coolant and power steering fluid
@DEInTheGarage2 жыл бұрын
So happy to hear you found this method successful. The power steering is straight forward. Make sure you turn your wheels back and forth and get the fan running to purge all the air. Make sure after it purges you add be to the fill line and check for a few days. I have a bunch of videos on adding the coolant.. a whole playlist on 4.7 cooling stuff actually. It can be a bit tricky. If you are new to the 4.7 I suggest you poke around the videos there, but definitely watch “how to bleed a radiator” as the 4.7 is unique kzbin.info/aero/PLqf45HdWbhsfYmq7YlURKHAux3AIQojlJ
