Thxs for the motivation! I’ve also had the same rear track bar sitting on the shelf waiting to be installed on my 3” lifted 96 ZJ since winter….the tip on placing the flat ended fitting up was a help. I’ll also replace that fuel filter (also on the shelf) as well…..👍

I’m in the process of getting my 96 zj dialed in I just put a 3.5” trail master lift on, but my ball joints and tie rods are worn so I couldn’t get my alignment done. Also need to order my adjustable track bars for front and rear. When reading on everything it always states that the front axle probably will shift to driver side and rear to passenger side but both of my axles shifted to driver side, is there something I should be looking for that caused them both to shift to driver side??
@barricadegarage53616 жыл бұрын
+One-Forty-Four Outdoors the chassis mount for the front track bar is on the drivers side and the chassis mount for the rear track bar is on the passengervside so i dont know why yours is being pulled in the same direction. It may have something to do with worn suspension parts. Before installing all my lifts on my Jeeps I aleays replace the steering linkage, ball joints, front and rear loeer conttol arms and u-joints. I have videos on all these repairs on my channel to provide a visual refrence. Sorry I cant be more help

BARRICADE GARAGE in my kit it came with springs, shocks, lower control arms front and rear, and sway bar end links for the front, I had replaced my rear end links because they snapped during the lift install. I’m going to do all new upper control arms front and rear as wel just so everything is new. My kit also came with a bracket to relocate the rear track bar to use the stock one, but I’m going to do an adjustable for front and rear to see if that helps. I’m thinking maybe the relocating bracket for the rear track bar might have something to do with it? I’m not sure it confuses me as to how mine all shifted to the driver side and every video I watch they shifted opposite directions. Thanks for the help tho man I love your vids they truly are extremely helpful!

Question, my ZJ is lifted 3.5" and I have 33 x 12.5 x 15's. My rear tires are not centered in the wheel wells, being closer to the front of the Jeep. Did I understand you to say that an adjustable rear track bar could re-center the tires/axel in the wheel well area? Thanks!

When you lifted your Jeep did you keep your rear sway bar or remove it?
What did the vehicle do as a result of the track bar being to short ? I have a 96 ZJ it came with a lift ( spacers above the springs ) that wanders all over the road. I bought it as a project / spare vehicle. I had ball joints and track bar replaced in the front and lower control arms in the rear, both track bars are stock according the reputable shop that replaced these parts All other components were OK. Should I replace the front lower control arms and both track bars to account for the lift ? What's your opinion ? and your video I just watched is very informative and easy to understand. Two thumbs up

Ted Zerbe heres my '97 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE 2 INCH LIFT INSTALLATION" video for refrence kzbin.info/www/bejne/pmrKo4GoeJeEotE
@barricadegarage53616 жыл бұрын
Ted Zerbe the '96 Jeep ZJ in the video has a 3.5 inch lift and at the height, your front axle will be shifted to the drivers side and your rear axle will kick out towards the passenger side due to the stock Track Bars not being long enough for that lift height. this caused my vehichle to wonder at highway speeds and increases my tire wear. the only way to fix this is by upgrading to adjustable track bars, which you can lengthen to fit your specific lift height so your axles will be centered under your Jeep... If I were you I would replace the front lower control arms and check for a loose front track bar. also, lifting that Jeep effected your caster and having the ball joints replaced change your toe, which effects how your vehichle tracks down the road so you should have an alignment done.
@tedzerbe96266 жыл бұрын
@@barricadegarage5361 Thanks, Now another question. Does it make a difference if the control arms are adjustable ? I am going to order the RC track bars and I'm trying to decide on fixed or adjustable controls arms.
@barricadegarage53616 жыл бұрын
Ted Zerbe adjustable control arms are great if your going over 3.5 in the future, but my jeep drives fine without them. im on stock control arms and my caster is good and pinion angle is good. My ZJ tracks down the road fine and does great on the highway at high speeds... now if you off road any, adjustable control arms are stronger than the factory set up and will last longer. I will probably get the rough country fixed control arms when its time for me to replace the ones i have tho

I just watched your other video installing a 2" lift kit, and I was thinking of doing the same. Is this upgrade necessary for that much lift too or only for 3"+?
@barricadegarage53615 жыл бұрын
Im putting one on that Jeep I lifted 2 inches because you can see the axle sits more toward the passenger side, not by a lot, but enough to drive me crazy when I look at it so if your going up 2 inches its not necessary but I still recommend it
