Thanks for the helpful video. When i bought my battery at autozone they said i would need them to plug into it after I replaced it to configure it or something. I let them but not sure why or what they may have done.

Quick question I have a Jeep renegade 2019 and when I’m going to turn it on it will not start I’m not sure if it the battery everything turns on but it doesn’t have power to turn on I was going to take it back to the dealer they want to charge me 175.00 for a Diagnóstic and I have warranty on my car … how do I know if the battery is good or bad …

do you have or know anyone with a multimeter? you can test it to see what it has for volts it should be around 12.6 volts. also if the battery is dead you may get away with having it re charged. do u have a battery light on or check engine light?

Yes and it show lightingbolt light but it turns off it doesn’t say on but the engine light is on … I was thing to take it to auto zone so they came check it …

They guy in the dealer was saying to me that I don’t know how to turn on the car I’m like are you for real he said that I take my finger off to soon and the ignition key is push button start …

Hi, thank you for the video. The battery in my 2015 Jeep Renegade was dead when I got back in my car yesterday after a PT appt. I called AAA and they came and recharged it so I could drive it home. They said my battery needs to be replaced. My Jeep is 7 years old. I got on line last night and downloaded comments on a site from people who have Jeep Renegades and have had there battery replaced. Many were saying that they began having electronic problems right after the new battery was put in, such as: lights not working, unable to get the car out of park, brakes not working and a host of other issues and when they asked what was wrong with the Jeep they were told the battery needed to have the computer recalibrated. Do you know anything about these electronic issues taking place after installing a new battery, and if so, what do you do about it? Thank you, Mary

Thank you for the comment, I have heard of these problems happening, newer vehicles have so much technology on them now that components get thrown off if the voltages are off, some brand new batteries may come off the shelf with a low charge automatically making these issues happen but for the majority just changing your battery with a new one will be fine and you shouldn't run into these problems, its difficult to explain fully over a comment but I hope you got it taken care of

Is there a special way to start the Renegade after replacing a battery? For example, do you need to turn on accessories first, then start the engine after certain time passes? Or is it ok to just start it up like normal?

good question, with the renegade you can just start it right up after. alot of other vehicles have to recalibrate all the sensors

@@603Mechanicvids it's the newest vehicle I ever owned (bought new in 2019). All the other old used jalopies I ever owned had some special way to start after replacing the battery to make sure everything calibrated correctly. 😄

This video was a life saver, very easy to understand and follow. I feel like if I had to, I could have done it myself. My Dad removed my battery for me. He was so impressed that I knew exactly what to tell him (because he had no idea where to start) to do and how to remove it. Thanks for saving me money and making me feel like a mechanic 😄

Hey I just went to autozone to get a new battery for my Jeep renegade 2017 I ask the guy to replace for me and the guy say no because it reset the computer and my not start need to bring a Mecanic shop Is the true????

I'm not sure why they told you that, you will be fine to change it and your jeep will start back up. some vehicles do require a recalibration after a battery swap but not the renegade

Hi Mary I went different auto parts to replace my battery but non off then did it they told me need a reset the computer So I just bring my jeep to jeep dealer but it was better because my jeep have and open recall about upgrade the computer
