My wife bought a new 2021 renegade limited last year, I've learned that the 2021 limited and trailhawk are very different than all of the other sub model renegades...like finding places that carry the right oil and filter, the first 2 changes i had to order the oil and filter from chrysler and now a few auto parts stores are finally starting to get the European stuff in. Anyhow, today we were both in the car and we each had our fob on us. Started the car after filling the tank, ouch..., started to pull away and a message popped up on the dash something about key fob not in vehicle which i laughed because they were both literally within 3 feet of the ignition button. Had to restart the car after using the fob to push the start button, how the ignition detects the chip inside the fob if the fob battery dies...it worked to back out of the parking spot then the same message popped up again, couldn't move the car until we repeated the dead fob battery start process with the other fob...pain in the a$$, gas station was super busy and other customers waiting for us to drive away were not patient at all, lots of honking and several were letting us know that they thought we were #1. Mega Millions lotto exceed a billion dollars today and everyone was rushing to buy their winning ticket and we were obviously delaying them and ruining their chances or something. After a few minutes researching, I've had to research more for this renegade limited than for any other vehicle- like why a 1.3 ltr turbo gas engine would have a glow plug light on the dash which took several hours of jeep renegade forum research and a lengthy conversation with a chrysler / jeep mechanic to find the answer, I was relived to find the answer on the fob issue so quickly and even more relieved to see just how easy it is to replace the fob battery. I was expecting another trip to the dealership for reprogramming or something similar. Anyone who's changed oil on their limited or trailhawk will understand why i was expecting this to be another pain in the a$$ process. Thanks for the video, tomorrow after I've won the mega millions I'll have to pick up a couple batteries and hopefully end the fob to push start bs... Oh, another message that i had to research was regarding a sonar sensor obstruction, I was like really, sonar??? Are we pinging subs as we drive or something? Nope, it was a sensor behind the review mirror that controls the auto headlights, auto wipers, lane assist, and applies brakes when the driver doesn't but should. 19,000 miles and we're still learning stuff all the time lol
