3:15 and already like your video. You started by pressure-washing the part and I see so many videos of people working on dirty parts risking dirt/grime/etc. getting into lubed parts and messing up or reducing the life of the work they've just done. Thanks for all the info; great video!!!

Interesting side note. Its been a couple years so don't try without researching but I was able to put a 1.5 inch chain in my 241or by using a chain from a 241dhd and sprockets from a np273.

I just got done rebuilding my Np241or. One thing I discovered was how extremely worn the fiber washers used in the 4:1 planetary were. I’d recommend tearing back into the case and checking that along with replacing all the bearing. Let me know if I can help you guys out!

We will take it back apart eventually. It had 58K miles so we really weren’t looking or expecting parts majorly worn and they weren’t from what we saw. We will completely rebuild it in another 10K-20K. Thanks for the feedback and the offer.

Of course anytime. Just be aware that transfer cases with known issues/sounds at a point will explode and cause some serious damage to the Jeep and to the occupants. Hope you all the best and be safe!

@@terraforge_motorsports we found the sound and its not coming from the transfer case.

How can I identify one of these cases? I want to put one in my XJ but don’t really know what I’m looking for

Was the chain stretched?

Hey guys , another great video . I guess on the positive side Harley's transfer case chain is new and you were able to check the inners of it while you were at it. The downside is now you have to pull the transfer case again and pull the transmission . Yikes !! I hope you find the problem with it . Looking forward to your next video guys . Darren are you willing to let out what front axles you have in your Jeep yet ? Take care and be safe guys.

Appreciate that. Which Jeep are you asking about the axle on?
