for the odd brake wear check that the slide pins are moving freely and that there are not any notches in the surfaces the pad ears slide on on the knuckle. Notches or sticky slide pins would mean that the pads cant move freely and one side would wear more than the other
@n9ghtb9k5r3 жыл бұрын
the slide pins are probably fine with the different texture, guess I should have watched all the video first, lol
@n9ghtb9k5r3 жыл бұрын
definitely both upper ball joints, but it also looks like passenger hub too as you can see movement between the knuckle and the wheel (hub) as well as movement between the knuckle and the axle C (ball joint)

I have that exact noise clunking in the back, was it the track bar?
@SmokinMonkeyOG3 жыл бұрын
I think so because it’s still there I haven’t changed my track bar out yet. I’ll be throwing a new one in with all new control arms all around. Should help. If not then I’ll know it’s the last thing left which would be the rear sway bar

After doing the Anson trail by "accident" which requires a 6 inch lift and 35" tires with my 2021 Taco TRD 4X4 with only a 1.5 inch lift I had to make a choice about off road driving. My RH cocker panel is badly damaged , rear bumper plastic broken and financially it is not worth it 😢. From now on fire roads is the only roads I will try here in Ontario.

Use a wire wheel on a drill or grinder to clean those pins and mating surfaces for the brakes, it’ll save you lots of time. Also good to double check the caliper pistons are moving easily and freely (don’t forget to pop the cap off the reservoir tho). I’d change all the ball joints at once to save you the money of getting it realigned every time you replace one. And as someone mentioned, check the rear sway bar links, they look loose and they should be really cheap to replace anyways. What trails are you guys planning on hitting next weekend? I’d be interested in tagging along in my pickup 🤙🏼
