That’s awesome you ordered a 20th Anniversary 392, so jealous! I purchased/ordered one of the original 8,000 Rubicons in November 2002 and still have it to this day, in fact I just hit the 20 anniversary of owning it on 2/4/2023. It’s not stock given I put a 6.2 LS3 out of a Corvette and has GenRight 3/4 link, King coil overs and Rock Jock 60 axles. I do wish I had a 2003 unmolested one in mint condition but I can’t have it all. My LJ is a 2005 Rubicon Sahara #364 (building that one for my son w/5.7 Hemi) and just last August I purchased a 2022 JLUR in Sting Grey with the 2.0t because I need the better fuel mileage but man I sure wish I could get my hands on a Rain colored 392… maybe one day. Looking forward to the video showing the 2003, 2013 and the 2023 together.. that’d be really cool.

I've got the Load D Wildpeak AT3W and I'm at 24 cold (26 when it warms up to 60 degrees) and the chalk test still shows my tires are not fully contacting on the edges. I have chicken strips (motorcycle tire reference) on all four tires. Oh well, live and learn I guess. I love my 2.0 non-etorque in CO. Not to burst anybody's bubble, and it's not a big deal, but you didn't lose etorque complexity by going with the 2.0. The V6 is the only engine where E-torque is OPTIONAL. If you have the 2.0, you have the E-torque system. Matter of fact, that's a big reason why it pulls better than the V6 in the low end.
@Segmaster012 жыл бұрын
Unless there’s information that I don’t know of, it seems the eTorque system is now exclusive to the 3.6L. They apparently swapped it over in the 21-22 model year. You can verify this by the presence or absence of an alternator under the hood- eTorque Wranglers use a belt-starter generator (BSG) instead of an alternator. This is also confirmed on Jeep’s website. I also just ordered a ‘23 Wrangler and can confirm that my 2.0L lacks the eTorque system, at least based on my understanding of the vehicle. If anyone has information to the contrary, please share.
@americanpatriot89962 жыл бұрын

My experience with the RaceChip is disappointing. I had to build a custom marine water tight box for it. That modification made it acceptable. I had only a splash (2 drops) of water get on the LED display and wick its way through the display and on to the board inside and shutdown my motor. I had to open the unit and use a hairdryer (low heat) to get it to work again; even after a day of attempting to let it sit and dry out. Here in the South we do a lot of mud and muddy water trails. Without having the muddy water above the axles, I have seen the spray get all over the inside of the engine bay, even on to the hood. My opinion is until RaceChip solves this issue, their product is not suitable for offroad vehicles out of the box. Having the engine shutdown in even a shallow water crossing can be very bad.

Good move on staying away from the etorque. My new 23' JLU v6 etorque was 6 days old and the MGU (the etorque 48V generator) failed. I took it to the dealer on November 27th, had them claim that I removed a cable in the fuse box that connects to the 48V battery pack (which I did not), and they denied the warranty coverage for the repair, as well as restricted by warranty due to "customer abuse" until the repairs are completed, so I cannot get a second opinion elsewhere. So they basically held my brand new Jeep with 151 miles on it hostage. I went through warranty arbitration, which took FCA's side (because i had installed a bumper and winch and that must mean that I removed this cable connection that has nothing do with either...) and I gave them permission to order the parts as a customer pay back on December 15th. I still do not have my Jeep back... The first MGU took 7 weeks to arrived, and arrived with the electrical connector sheared in half. The reorder took another 2 weeks, even with jeep support claiming they were expediting it. They had to replace the MGU and the whole transmission harness, and the total including labor is about $6300. Add to that the $1100 in rental car for the first 2 weeks while i was still under the impression it was warranty (which was supposed to be reimbursed) and not only have I been without my sole vehicle for nearly 3 months, but I am looking at $7400 minimum, assuming they don't "find anything else wrong", and hopefully i do not have to fight to have their unrestrict my warranty, as they said they would once they repair was completed (again, holding my vehicle hostage. I'll be contacting a lawyer once i have all the bills totaled, paid, and I have my Jeep in my hands, because they had no evidence that I did anything other than unrelated modifications, and IANAL but I am hiring one because that is a clear violation of the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act. Anyways, rant over. I might have my Jeep back by the end of the week if I am lucky. If anyone is in the Central FL area, stay away from Seminole CDJR.

@@DIRTROADCRED that's the problem when that eTorque system. For 1-2 more mpg, they added an overly complex light hybrid system, that you basically cannot service yourself. If the alternator on a normal engine fails, you can just replace it, but the 48v MGU fails and it can only be purchased from Mopar, it's a factory released part, and it is flashed to your VIN when it is installed, so it can't be used by another vehicle. They are really doing everything they can to go against "Right to Repair". I miss the old days when you could reliably work on your own vehicle if you chose to.

Stay away from the dealer. Find you a reputable Off-Road Mechanic and stick with him.

I have a 2021 jeep wrangler unlimited willys with the 2.0 at 10'000 miles it left me stranded. the generator aka that alternator went bad ...and at 18'000 the rear main seal started leaking apparently installed wrong from the factory.. now at 25'000 I have a antifreeze leak the water pump inlet tube bolts just loosened up.. I wanted to keep my jeep forever not so much anymore ....I would avoid the 2.0 turbo.

Interesting!

Happened to me too, but once you get those issues fixed it won’t happen again for a long while unless you’re running your Jeep extra hard. During warmer seasons I don’t run mine so hard because the inlet tube will have to be replaced again.

Cooper owns MT. So their tires are very similar. And you're far too young to be talking like you have old bones. Wait about a quarter century.

Have a question about the Alpine upgraded stereo that's what we have on ours with the subwoofer in the back can you hook an amp up to that subwoofer?

No. It will blow the woofer. The Jeep already has a built in amp for your woofer. I don’t know how many watts, but anything else will blow your woofer.
