Ginny, you're right about the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon and I've been driving these Jeeps in Scotland for almost 20 years and really love them, despite their many flaws, for they're an enthusiast's vehicle for sure.

i got my first jeep in 2018 the wrangler Rubicon JL in that color and i have not looked back i just think its a shame over sees in the UK they removed the steel bumpers as a option they even removed the tow hooks the steel bumpers made it so i could immediately go into NH in the US and go up rocks and not worry about it folding in the bumper :) i know its for safety but i mean are you really gonna fair well against a jeep either way

@@Nuttty Yes, the European spec bumpers are awful and ugly, but at least they are so ridiculously wide that I can sit on them comfortably while changing my wellie boots! I don't do much hardcore off-roading, nor rock crawling, so don't worry too much about the reduction in approach angle. The main problem with owning a Jeep Wrangler in the UK is the poor economy, which is a shocker with our sky high fuel prices. The new JL also gets only a very poor 1 star Euro NCAP safety rating and is very expensive to buy. Despite all this, I still love my Jeep Wrangler.

Love the fact that the rear door hinges from the right which makes it safer for access in countries that drive on the left. Land Rover should take note of the removable panels, as they haven't grasped the fact that if you can't take the roof or the doors off; it's not a Land Rover?

Ive owneddozens of vehicles, but probably my all time fave, and the one i regret selling was my beloved Wrangler TJ. I spent a fortune on lift kits, wheels etc..It was an absolute beast and is still my fave Wrangler, but this updated version of the JK is a lovely truck.

The Jeep is expensive because it is popular. It is popular because it is expensive and because it stands out. It's true competition is the FJ 40 and the Defenders from the '60s which, after rebuilding, are priced over twiice as much as a 2020 Wrangler Unlimited.

Jeep have thought of where to put the bolts when you take the roof and doors off. They haven't thought of where to store the roof and doors have they? At least now I know why the rear passenger's head gets smashed in if it's t-boned. The same reason why the rear passenger can't see out of the side. A big lump of metal in the way.

@@mattjones1992 My 2011 Ram 2500 has a solid front axle (AAM 9.25). The 2022 Ford Superduty and Ram HD pickups both still have solid front axles in 4wd trim. The solid front axle setup doesn't change camber when you add or remove a lot of weight from the front end (like adding or removing a snow plow).

@@rogerhawe608 Sigh....try and keep up. The Wrangler's crash test rating has since been revised to a 3-star rating, excellent results for this type of vehicle ( It's never going to be a Volvo!) Real world results from the Insurance Institute for Highway safety (USA) puts Wrangler among the safest vehicles you can buy - fewer claims, lives lost, injuries etc. You have got access to the internet - go check it out, and stop perpetuating the BS!

jeep has a terrible reputation in Australia. Poor reliability and arrogant distributors. Their support and warrantee claims and customer support are ignored. Sales have dropped from 30,000+ to just 7,000 in 4 years.

I wonder what kind of reputation does the Jeep brand has in the UK? In India, the only Jeep that is quite popular is Compass and the most owners have/had harrowing experiences with their car from poor service to exorbitantly high spare parts cost to an entirely defective car (in some cases). And Jeep didn’t show concern to any of those issues. Honestly, I don’t trust any American brand except for Ford which is also not a brand that would make you want to own one desperately like Honda.

guy proulx : Well, Ford is a bit different story where one my relatives have had fairly good experience with his Ford Fiesta sedan. For one, it cannot be denied that Ford knows how to make cars for it has the legacy in the automotive industry. Also, Ford spare parts are way cheaper than my Honda City which is bizarre given Ford are better built than Honda. Also, service and maintenance of Ford is fairly reasonable. I don’t really see much flaws in Ford compared with other American brands to deem it as a dud brand. Again, not denying some issues with Ford as well that I never faced on my Honda but one can live with that.

guy proulx : I have no clue about the kind of experience you had with their products you mentioned here since they never went on sale in India. The ones sold in India viz., Figo, Aspire, Fiesta (now no longer available), Eco Sport and Endeavor are pretty rugged and well reliable vehicle. Non of their customers ever complained rogue behavior from Ford. Interestingly all of their products are benchmark in their respective segments except Endeavor which faced the heat with the newly launched Toyota Fortuner. My reviews were based on my experience and reputation of their products in India.

guy proulx : Well, that’s a big “statement” you made that my reviews on Ford cars were based on comparison with Indian cars where I never mentioned about any India brand. In a way, it’s being sanctimonious of you. I agree Indian automotive brands were not really safety conscious in the past until recently but, FYI (because Americans likes to live in their glass house), Tata always held an exception in their built quality. Tata cars were always pretty rugged and tough built in the past and they have upped their game ever further with newer safety tech today. Still today, Ford products sold in India are no match for TATAs. But I guess, Ford never had those reliable products on sale in The U.S. Right? That explains your obliviousness of this brand. Period.

@@Mark-eu6mc That's one engine option. The 392 and the 4xe are pretty quick. Zero to 60 mph happens in 6s in the 4xe and 4.5s in the 392.

@@Mark-eu6mc The rumor from Jeep is that they are going to switch over to only 4xes for Europe. I have seen a few 392s here, but tax credits ($7,500 federal tax credit) make the 4xe more appealing. I ordered one as a 3rd vehicle at the beginnning of the December. The 392 isn't really out of place in the US since the most sold vehicle is really the GMC Sierra/Chevy Silverado 1500. The Ford F-150 gets bragging rights though as the GM truck is sold under 2 brand names. Cars in general, and especially small cars, don't sell well in the US. I couldn't even tell you what a Fiesta looks like. I don't think I have seen one here in the last 10 years. Edit: To answer your question....not many UK sales of the 392. If you have the cash to buy one you probably aren't all that concerned about fuel costs.
