When I see a mechanic swinging a claw hammer it makes me doubt his abilities.

Instead of hammering out the hub/axle you can just flip the rotor around and throw the lugs back on a few threads then use the rotor as a slide hammer. Works great.

You’re a hero man, that was painful; until I did as you mentioned

Spend a little extra and get the teraflex or dynatrac. They'll last a lot longer.

I very much appreciate that you didn’t use the red boot as an “added difference” from stock. Kept it legit and stuck to useful differences

I know one thing of i was taking apart my frontend and axels id replace them u-joints for sure ... for the extra time it takes its well worth the extra piece of mind it wont break out on the trail ...and yours definitely look like they can use it

Very good video. Absolutely recommend getting the offset cup kit to press the old ball joints out and new ones in. Also a good time to have your rotors turned and do a brake job if it's needed.

Great video! Axle hub bearing torque? Please don't use a claw hammer.

It’s 100 FT LBS..He remove the whole assembly hub bearing with axle shaft.. so he doesn’t have to re-torque it and saved some time from separating it from the axle shaft

@@358bobcat9 I think, he meant the three bolts of bearing to knuckle. This is what I‘m missing too, in this video.

Oops! And where are your safety glasses. Wait until that hammer throws a metal chip. Not trying to rag you, I do like your products.

I would stick a towel in the axle tube to prevent any shit from getting in there

Just started watching but one Huh? Really, a claw hammer, try a ball peen hammer. They are made for hitting this stuff.

I didn’t see a snap ring put onto the grease boot of the lower ball joint. Why not? It comes with the kit, and there is a seat for it also

Why does the ball joint look so smashed on top.

Is it normal cor everything to be so rusted? Mine kinda looks like this not sure if i should be worried
@extremeterrain2 жыл бұрын
Yep! We're in PA, we get our fair share of snowy winters and road salt. Conditions like that over time will cause surface rust like this. -Zach

Did you have to grease these specific joints or were they already filled in?
