Save From Costly Repairs. Protect your transmission, transfer case and oil pan from damage with a M.O.R.E (Mountain Off-Road Enterprises) Oil/Transmission Skid Plate fitting 2007-2017 Wrangler JK. The factory Wrangler skid plate is not up to the challenge of any serious off-roading and is easily deformed from light contact. To make matters worse, Wranglers equipped with a manual transmission don’t have a skid plate at all, leaving the entire undercarriage completely exposed and vulnerable to damage. An aftermarket M.O.R.E skid plate is a considerably beefier product that will properly protect the transmission, transfer case and oil pan from impact with hard obstacles that would otherwise result in a costly repair.
Beefy, Stout Construction. Made from 3/16” steel plating and weighing in at a whopping 50 lbs, the M.O.R.E oil/transmission skid plate is certainly not a featherweight. It is a solid one-piece design with no seams or low points to catch on anything and incorporates an access hole to keep engine oil changes uncomplicated. Finished with a black powder coat paint, the skid plate is well sealed from all the muck and water it will surely be exposed to.
Some Drilling Required. Installation of the M.O.R.E oil/transmission skid plate is relatively easy and requires very little modification to get it on your Jeep. The included mounting brackets attach to the front motor mounts and transmission cross-member; one extra hole will need to be drilled into the cross-member in order to secure the plate. Other than that, only basic hand tools are needed and you can expect to spend 3 hours to complete the job.
