Jeep Wrangler plowing a FOOT of SNOW BOSS HTX V PLOW Part 1
So I hear all the time, Get a truck, all you have is a sidewalk shovel, you should buy a manly truck lol
Well I switched over to a Jeep because my Manly trucks could not fit in to some places around here and I had to be super careful not to hit stuff.
Here is that storm where I plow a foot of snow with my Jeep. It took longer as it always did with my manly trucks as well. So I will keep earning More money from my Jeep than some do with their trucks. How do I make more you ask??? Well Maybe one day I will share that info lol

Part 2 is a little brighter and part 3 coming up. Definitely a lot different than plowing the normal 1-2 inches. This particular building sits in the middle with pavement surrounding it. Had to think of where I could even pile the snow here.

Love the set up… was it an issue getting this plow installed on the Jeep? I’m looking to get this set up on a 2018 jl but boss dealer says it can’t handle it. They only will sell me a 7’6” poly straight plow.

The dealer installed mine. Have them look up the weight on both plows. Also refer them to my videos lol

Yours is a 2009 wrangler? On boss product selector it doesn’t even recommend anything but a 7’ blade for them. I called boss and they said 2 door rubicons can get the v or straight, legally I guess they can’t say the v for the 4 door because of weight.

@@Jeffski329 it's definitely not recommended. The V weights 74lbs more than the poly 7'6 htx. I'm not sure why so many folks are having a tough time getting the dealer to install it. The only issue I had was waiting for my mount to deliver for them to install. What are your axle ratings? My front GAWR is 2775 and rear is 3200

@@Squarebodyshelley so did you install yourself? Or dealer did all? Just checked and my front gawr is 3100 and rear is 3100. Guess that mean I can carry 325 more than previous years. Boss themselves didn’t have that info they said they only say specs for 2850 as a max gawr.

These people think plowing with jeeps is a new thing. In the 70's and 80's, Jeeps had a plow package as an option supplied by Meyer. My dad had a red 77 CJ5 with a 6.5 foot Western plow. Power angle.

Is the Wrangler lifted? How did you deal with the higher hitch mount position?

Yes it's lifted. I'm not sure how much may like a 2.5 inch lift. I moved the mount down 1 notch then adjusted the little bit I could on the actual plow. It sits great

Considering one of these for my f150. Do you recommend this plow? I feel it may be a little small for my truck but I'm not sure I want to go up to the larger ones either.

For an F150 it's basically the only V plow that will fit the F150 I believe. It's made for half ton trucks. Definitely recommend this plow. I wouldn't put anything larger on it.

Yes. I dont believe I want to go any larger. I'm sure it can handle a xt or dxt but it would probably not benefit at all. I've seen these hxt plows in 250s even. I plan to get a 250 in the near future so at least I can transfer this to it if I dont have the cash for anything bigger.

@@kylebrewer2686 I'm pretty sure a DXT would be too much weight and you would run into major front end problems. But I know a guy running the HTX on a one ton truck. Works fine for what he does. He initially had his on a F150 as well

Hey man, I know it's an older video so you might not catch this but I'd love to hear your thoughts on plowing with a Wrangler. I've got a JL that I'm considering putting a Meyer light duty plow on for doing my drive (just a bit shy of a half mile) and maybe back road to clear a lane since it's a dead end and the county gets to it dead last. I keep hearing people say it's too hard on a Wrangler's frame/etc and it seems like you've been running a plow on different Jeeps for a while, would really love your input.

I don't think you would ruin anything on the Jeep. How much different is the JL versus the Wrangler? My dad runs a 6.8 Meyer on his TJ

Honestly I have no idea what the differences are in material strength between the different year models and frames. I keep seeing different pictures of people running them on Wrangler JK's and TJ's but I haven't seen many JL's with them yet and I just don't know if it's because of them being a newer model year (2019+) or if there's a reason for it. Either way, I appreciate the response and thanks again for uploading this! Always cool seeing plowing videos in general, as a night person and being from Michigan these kind of vids are like zen!

I doubt there was probably to much change to the frame and stuff. Problem might be finding a dealer who will mount it. Most people tell me their dealer won't install this boss HTX
