Old Timer here so dont be offended by my suggestion but if you push the snow to the left side of the driveway when the town plows come around they will not push your load back into the driveway.

I have the 10.6 fisher plow too. I have it on a f750 and actually made 1’ extensions. Making the plow 12.6 feet. It’s a unit

Could tell the ram was working a bit to move that heavy stuff. But, that’s a big ass plow and a good amount of snow. Got the job done in style.

When you were solo and wanted to grow. What made you more money or did you add first? A second truck, dump trailer, or a machine? Also its amazing how much that truck can backdrag. My 2500 with an 8.5 fisher xv2 can only backdrag maybe six inches of snow three to four feet then it stops lol.

Why did back down that driveway? Turn around top of driveway and push out.....
@VTOutdoorServices2 жыл бұрын
The residential one in the woods? Nowhere to put snow at the bottom. We rebuilt that driveway this summer and it’s a steep drop off on both sides. And illegal to push across a town or state highway
@jimturtle62232 жыл бұрын
@@VTOutdoorServices gotch ya , it's illegal here too (RI) so I push out and bank it against the curb. I guess it's just a matter of preference I just try to avoid backing as much as possible. Nice channel. NVT is beautiful

He needs 18 foot short iron pull plow also . better than back dragging total driveways.

Great video as usual. What made you go with the yellow Fisher over the stainless steel? Just wondering
@VTOutdoorServices2 жыл бұрын
Fisher plows are supposed to be yellow. Stainless ones are for the guys who love driving around with them on when it’s not snowing 😂
@JohnDiMartino2 жыл бұрын
We have both the yellow ones are stronger imo, stainless steel is just the moldboard everything else is mild steel the yellow plows are welded together ,the stainless steel the stainless is bolted on and doesn’t add to the structural integrity like the mild steel does. Just my opinion.
@VTOutdoorServices2 жыл бұрын
Good point. Honestly for how these plows get treated, I don’t see spending the stainless $

I prefer a smaller plow with wings to get the width plus better containment.
@LoneWolfSnowplowing2 жыл бұрын
They each have their strengths/weaknesses. Smaller plow with wings contains better for moving snow straight forward across parking lots. Possibly windrowing some fairy dust type snow. Try windrowing heavier snow, or windrowing older windrows widening a road....wings are not designed/not robust enough to take that abuse not to mention depending on the style plow/wings the angle is all wrong. My 8.5XV2 with wings doesn't windrow well at all, I'd be better off with a 9.5'. Another thing is floatation.....a 9.5' plow won't float on top of the snow like a 8.5' with wings. There is no cure all, like most things there are trade-offs.
