Thank you for this video!! I bought a used YJ that didn’t run well and I spent hours trying to figure it out. Decided to pull the distributor watched your video and it runs like a champ! Seriously thank you I was about to give up.

Do you have to have the pin in the distributor when setting it and why?

Hey David, this may seem like a weird question but since I've been working on my YJ (2.5L) it's been having this squealing sound when I start it up and then it will just die...I'm sure being 20+ years old has nothing to do with it lol but I was wondering could it be the cap, rotor and plug wires needing to be changed? Or maybe something else...just wanted to pick your brain....thanks in advance and awesome job on the TJ can't wait to hear it run lol.

+JaysGarage Hey Jay - Usually a squealing is caused by belts , alternator , power steering pump etc. An easy way to check would be to remove the belt and start it up - if there is no noise then you know it is something connected to the belt or the belt itself . Thats a start :) Thanks for the kind words bro !

Awesome. Dave were you a mechanic before lock smithing . Had to ask :)

+Steve Rob You should check out his website - I don't think he plugs it enough. There you can find the story of where he came from/how it all started. Dave's got pretty well rounded experience and skills.

hahahaha where did you get those wires from? I would just buy new ends, cut and crimp them. Are you Nervous about starting it ?

+Bullshitkorner Im on pins and needles hahaha no, I think it will be fine - if I get the fuel hooked up :) I bought the wires from Amazon so I sent them back and ordered a factory style.
