Where can I get that kit also. Where you able to use your Jeep springs or did you have to buy new ones?

Clifton link for the kit is in the description from Dave’s customs and I used the stock springs. I have recently bought new springs but have yet to install them

@@mufnsgarage8780 Did you use the steering box relocator that they sell?
@kegtappereiu5 жыл бұрын
@@mufnsgarage8780 Also did you do anything special for the rear end or did you just move the perches.
@mufnsgarage87805 жыл бұрын
Clifton I did not use the steering box relocation it still sits in the stock location. I did make my own steering, after the fact I could see moving the steering box forward about an inch would be useful and that’ll happen sometime in the future. As for the rear end all I did was weld new perches on and set the pinion angle that way. Soon I will be using a different rear axle, I’ll be going Toyota because of their semi float design and dropout 3rd member.

Did you use the GM steering box / steering system or did you keep it stock? Also for the rear end did you just buy bigger perches and set them in the same place? I have a whole parts truck to work with so I'm trying to figure things out. Sorry man I don't mean to blow you up.

What did you do to swap the rear Chevy axle into your yj
@mufnsgarage87805 жыл бұрын
Jimmy D689 just cut off the stock spring perches, then bought new ones from Barnes 4x4 I believe. You’ll basically bolt it together unwelded and center your axle then get some of the vehicle weight on it and set your pinion angle. After your pinion angle is perfect you can weld the spring perch to the axle

What Chevy Axles did you use? what transmission and driveshaft did you use?
@mufnsgarage87806 жыл бұрын
Trans is an SM465, axles are 10 bolts front and rear although I do have a 44 that has 4.10 that i'm going to install in the front with an aussie locker and waiting for funds to do a gear swap with locker in the rear. Driveshafts we're custom ordered through Woody's driveshafts up in Ogden. I called them up and they told me how to measure everything, ordered them over the phone and they were at my doorstep in 3 days.

MUFN's Garage really cool thank you for the info. I have a 92 YJ I want to do a swap on.

Does this move the axle forward at all? I would like to improve my approach angles when I do the axle swap.
@mufnsgarage87804 жыл бұрын
Almon Jacob no but you can move the mounts forward or I believe that wagoner springs have an offset pin so you can move it forward that way

I have an '88 YJ and want to do something like this.
@mufnsgarage87806 жыл бұрын
Scott Galbraith it’s a fairly straight forward swap and a nice alternative to just beefing up a dana 30

What springs did you use for the swap?
@mufnsgarage87805 жыл бұрын
Clayton Moore I used the stock springs, I am about to swap new springs in. Stock height again but all 4 will be rear 5 leafs from a hard top wrangler since both front and rear are the same length
