I would hate to have to figure out different firing orders for any engine let alone a v6 I believe Buick chopped the rear two cylinders off of one of the first v6s that's what I heard don't know if it started out as a nail head or a chopped off aluminum 300

I've owned the aluminum 215 cu in before and seen the 300 cu in before, their all basically the same around that age. The timing covers interchange and some other parts. Yes I heard the same thing. The V6 block is a V8 block that's been shortened by removing a pair of cylinders.

With my timing mark on 0, the rotor points at the #4 wire. It runs good but boggs down under load. Is the distributor in wrong?

The crank rotates twice for every revolution of the cam/distributor. Try rotating the crank 1 full revolution. It should point to cyl # 1. (firing order 165432). Pointing to number 4 means you're not at the firing stroke. (The piston comes to TDC twice per cycle).

They have a unique sound when their running well. Sounds like they have a cam. I've got another video I'm editing on diagnosing a lean condition when hot. Didn't think there was much interest in the motor and car so I've been taking my time.
