At times it sounds like Jeff is using an Octaver pedal. It drops the guitar's output 1 octave. He is probably palm muting for the clipping effect. And I can with near certainty say that Jeff is manipulating the strats volume control to produce the volume swells. Whatever the case, "it's just Jeff Beck" per "The Orange Beach." He is afterall, the Greatest Of All Time. I'm still mourning his passing.
