I was there, in the guest area right up front. This was Jeff opening for Sting. The audience didn't seem to know who he was or how to react though eventually started to get into it. His movements here suggest he's a bit aggravated by the situation. Speaking to him backstage pre- and post-show was awakward. Saw him at the end of the week, once again opening for Sting, at London's Hyde Park. He appeared more comfortable on home ground. Chrissie Hynde, Jeff's longtime friend and occasional collaborator was there, though arrived just minutes too late to catch his set. I've always thought it would be great if they put a band together for a tour - she's on his 'Space for the Papa' and he's on the Pretenders' 'Legalise Me' . She modelled her hairstyle after him and plays a Telecaster because he too had played one. Here he is with the Pretenders after getting a call from Chrissie inviting him down to the studio. The recording guys didn't know who he was but after he left the building they were ecstatic in a 'WTF, who was that?' way. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nGWZn5umatVgmLM&ab_channel=HamptonInjuryLawyer

Excellent performance! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ This version of 'Brush With the Blues' is the best I ever heard - even better than the one he played @ Ronnie Scott's ...

Heard all versions and below one The Tokyo Version is the best version. Also this version's tempo is fast, which makes the feeling from the song bad. Song Link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jqi6iXmfYtN7jdksi=Tc0b0flY-nK9Hp8k Concert Link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iGXInn13iK6oj6Msi=nQigv3ikM3n-aA4d

Caught them twice on this tour. Both shows were incredible. The visual of that big chrome drum set loop fit so well. 'THX 138" became one of my fav's. The band was pushed hard. Great post To yo Thanks.

Of all the extremely highly skilled guitarists, I do prefer Jeff's sparing style. Its musical and humorous, and he doesn't over-play just because he could...

I think God has taken him to heaven to teach him how to play. Jeff was an enormously gifted talent without equal. I find it hard to accept that he has gone.

will we ever see a book from Beck titled The Art of Fingerstyle Electric Guitar? Because this is awesome and awe inspiring. Interesting how many really good guitar players have dispensed with the pick entirely or at least use a flat pick and three fingers, or a thumb pick with all four fingers. Sonny Landreth, Richard Thompson, Ry Cooder, they're all "fingerstyle" players. Beck is, of course, in a category all his own.

Jeff's in the 'brutally physical' category - note the fresh blood on the bottom half of the scratchplate from 5:40 onwards!

I don't think Derek Trucks uses a pic, DB2 goes back n forth but Richie Kotzen doesn't.

There is no one who can get such a viscous sound out of a guitar. The rest of the so called guitar heroes are a joke compared to Beck.

What the heck with this Jeff Beck guy. I can play everything that he is playing with my eyes closed. Just playing those boring 2-3 chords kinda lead solos with 2-4 strings. Besides he doesn't even use a Strummer.
