Beck's genius was extraordinary. As a fan from the first Yardbyrds records, he was always a great inspiration. These recordings show his recognition of an American genius, Brian Wilson. And, if he had lived long enough, Leo Fender would have been appreciative of Beck's genius as Beck was of his. Thank you for bringing these performances to viewers.

It's not a metaphor, but literally Jeff narrated stories of his life , his soul , the world & then some , through his fingers to the guitar...Even in his musical beginnings early on with the Yardbirds.

He was always aware of the effect that a light/gentle touch 😅 10:53 touch of fingertip had on electric guitar strings with the highly cranked loudness/tone under his full control and abilities. A clear opposite direction of the "power sounds" of the testosterone players,of the days of yore. FLAMENCO EMPLOYED THIS PERCUSSIVE/ MUTING, SWEEPING TECHNIIQUE TO KEEP AN AUDIBLE TEMPO FOR THE DANCER. (S)

They toured together in 2013, separate sets with their bands then a combined set at the end …where they played mostly Beach Boys…but also Jeff doing his wonderful take on Danny Boy. I was fortunate to catch a couple of those shows.. I think the tour idea might have hatched when Jeff played the MusiCares tribute to Brian in about 2006…which is included in this video. There are lots of videos of the 2013 tour on KZbin but sadly most were taken with (2013 or older) phones. This is one of the best ones, if only bc of the professional quality on some of the included clips. I think one of the versions of Caroline No is from the 2019ish Crossroads festival..and one from his final tour (?) Of course all videos of Jeff Beck are greatly appreciated by fans. Thanks much to this account for posting. RIP Jeff and Jeffrey Foskett (Brian Wilson band bandleader, vocalist and rhythm guitarist)

@@GuiitarBilly Yes, it was the MusiCares performance. Jeff said that after his performance Brian Wilson walked past him - didn't stop - and muttered 'nice' (or something similar). Apparently Wilson didn't know who Beck was but was very impressed by what he experienced. In fact the whole band was in awe, which is very evident, particularly on 'Surfin' USA'. Funnily, Beck said he had only a short amount of time to learn 'Surf's Up' and was, much to the chagrin of his missus, up half the night in bed working on it with his guitar.
