Saw jeff beck at the concord Pavillion 1977 caught bart to the concert but this was before bart ran all night and bart was closed when we got the station. We went to the freeway to hitchhike and very first car stopped. We were going to the farthest part of the city. The sunset district at the beach. Dude was going to the sunset and he drive us all the way home. We were 15. We slept all the home. Dude woke me up at my house. I will never forget that night and it was all for jeff beck.🙏

I was a bit young for the early solo stuff, but by the mid 70’s fusion, I was all in. A fan ever since. I’ve said it before, but he’s occasionally had to drag me along to what’s next. I always come around though, even if first listens didn’t impress. Finally got to see him in 2019 with Captain Jack Sparrow, Vinnie, Rhonda and the cellist. Bucket list item checked that night.

Jeff Beck not only plays the guitar different from anyone else, but he USES the guitar more than anyone else. Eddie Van Halen received accolades for his style and perhaps deservedly so. Jeff Beck is the Sci-Fi version of that. The crossroads concert shows how much he stands out. With all those incredible players, and I love most of them, he comes out and rips like no one before. There are the maestros, and then there is Mr. J. Beck.
