Lyrics:
Twenty-nine pearls in your kiss
A singing smile
Coffee smell and lilac skin
Your flame in me
Twenty-nine pearls in your kiss
A singing smile
Coffee smell and lilac skin
Your flame in me
I'm only here for this moment
I know everybody here wants you
I know everybody here thinks he needs you
I'll be waiting right here just to show you
How our love will blow it all away

"I'm still not comfortable with what I do. Every time I get home after a show, I feel really strange - like when you wake up in the morning and you realize that you went out the night before, got high, and told some stranger all the most intimate details of your life. It's kind of embarrassing." - Jeff Buckley ♥

+katherinaJee55 I was introduced to Jeff Buckley's music in 1996 and he died the next year. I was so totally devastated that I wouldn't be able to see him in concerts after that. It would have been really great if he had chosen to be getting old as we do but then again, this world is too incensitive for the musicians like Jeff...

+Dragir Tully I know of course. Did I say Jeff killed himself? That is the last thing I wanted him to have encountered in his life. But what else can we do? We can just listen to his beautiful music and mourn.

Do not forget that the time will come ,when God will bring the majority of the dead...including Jeff ..The Bible says: “There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.” (Acts 24:15) .Now the question arises...are we alive at that time ? But I am very happy ,I know that Jeff will be a new opportunity, that makes me being happy...he say in end of one video..." just to be in the world, really."..jB ♥

I like to think that Jeff is some kind of a guardian angel who is sending comfort to the female character of this story. It brings a specific kind of calm and peace - you have a friend whom you cannot see but he is always by your side no matter what. And I do think the story is about a girl who went to visit her lover (not Jeff) but got betrayed as a lover did not come to her probably because of being with another mistress

You're just the torch to put the flame to all our guilt and shame And I'll rise like an ember in your name I know I, I know I I know everybody here wants you And I know everybody here thinks he needs you I'll be waiting right here just to show you Oh, let me show you (I'll be waiting right here just to show you) That love can rise, rise just like embers Love can taste like the wine of the ages, oh babe And I know they all look so good from a distance But I tell you I'm the one I know everybody here, well, thinks he needs you Thinks he needs you And I'll be waiting right here just to show you

Damn, this song captures what it feels like to find beauty through sadness and isolation.. Especially when you know you can never get what you want.. I think the video highlights how the lady is desired by most of the men she passed by at the airport but she is haunted by the man of her dream (Jeff Buckley).. But she can never have him since he is no longer alive.. That kind of feeling makes you wanna curl up into a suitcase for sure.. Beautiful video for a beautiful song

True story about this song.. Jeff never wanted it to be released and had the producer hide the tapes... And when he died Sony demanded all of the tapes be turned over to them... Jeff was worried that people would think he was trying to be Lenny Kravitz... And the irony is Jeff was nominated for a Grammy for the song for best male vocalist, and he lost to Lenny Kravitz

Even though this music video was posthumous and probably not in line with what Jeff would've wanted, I still think it's beautiful. This beautiful yet childlike woman caught in the beauty of the large, freeing airport. Roaming around so curiously. But the strangers puzzle and scare her. And the few stills of her watching Jeff and him watching her. That'd be like him. That fleeting, guileless spirit is something we all lose throughout the adversities of life. But an oh so very few still retain it. Jeff was one of them. Oh honey, everybody here still wants you.

This song always takes me back to when my first girlfriend dumped me in high school. I was madly in love but she broke up with me when she went to college. She was a year older and to win her back I roped my friend Ryan into sneaking to her school so he could play guitar while I sang this song to her in front of the entire college. Convinced that some older college guy would steal her immediately I wanted her to hear the line: “And I know they all look so good from a distance but I tell you I’m the one.” We practice the song a few times but Ryan assured me that my voice was terrible and I wisely chickened out - thank goodness. I got over her eventually but then a couple of years later she called me out of the blue and asked if I wanted to get some coffee. Cutting a long story slightly shorter we’ve been married for 23 years and I’m still madly in love with her. I reckon I’ll sing this song for my wife on our 75th anniversary, when I’m a shaky voiced fossil and hopefully it sounds adorable instead of terrible.

What an immense talent taken too soon. It will always be one of the what ifs.... today most of his music is leagues ahead of anything on play and its resonance is astounding in terms of depth. Rip seemed like a deep affable person as well.

don't mind me im just posting the lyrics so i can sing along: Twenty-nine pearls in your kiss, a singing smile Coffee smell, and lilac skin, your flame in me Twenty-nine pearls in your kiss, a singing smile Coffee smell, and lilac skin, your flame in me I'm only here for this moment I know everybody here wants you I know everybody here thinks they need you I'll be waiting right here just to show you How our love will blow it all away Such a thing of wonder in this crowd I'm a stranger in this town, you're free with me And our eyes are locked in downcast love I sit here proud Even now you're undressed in your dreams with me I'm only here for this moment I know everybody here wants you I know everybody here thinks he needs you I'll be waiting right here just to show you How our love will blow it all away And all the tears we cried have dried on yesterday A sea of fools have parted for us, there's nothing in our way, my love Don't you see? Don't you see? You're just the torch to put the flame to all our guilt and shame And I'll rise like an ember in your name No. No I know everybody here wants you I know everybody here thinks they need you I'll be waiting right here just to show you Oh let me show you that love can rise just like embers Love can taste like the wine of the age, oh babe And I know they all look so good from a distance But I tell you I'm the one I know everybody here well thinks he needs you, thinks he need you And I'll be waiting right by here just to show you

I've listened to this song a million times, and this is the first time I've actually seen the video... before hand I always would imagine in my head, a low lit jazz club or ball room, and a beautiful woman in a red dress -- then jeff buckley from afar singing this song with stolen glances across the room, and that unspoken attraction
