Oh man I feel exactly the same way. He speaks to our souls. I feel so heartbroken that I never knew him and that I couldn’t help him when he was goin through it, but it’s really weird cuz he feels so familiar, like I knew him in a past life or something. I will never forget the day his death was announced on MTV. I was holding my brand-new baby girl and I just started sobbing. I had just passed up on seeing him in DC because the date fell on my mother's birthday. I have always regretted that decision. When Tim was alive he ended up adopting a step son, Taylor, who was around the same age as Jeff, and from all accounts was a loving father to him. But he never reached out to Jeff even though they both lived in Southern California. The one time his Mom arranged a meetup with Tim when Jeff was 8, apparently Tim spent most of that week locked up in his room practicing his music. Then I think he died that same year of the visit. That must have been so devastating for Jeff. So yes, testiness is natural in this scenario because he had a lot of pain over what happened with his father. But we all know it was Tim's loss.
